Pain when swallowing

For the last few days every time I swallow something no matter what it is I feel pain in my stomach. Feels kinda like it does when you have a lump in your throat. This happens no matter what I eat or drink. I could take the smallest bite or sip possible and still feel it. It even started hurting last night while I was sleeping and woke me up.

This ever happened to anyone else? Should I be worried?

i say call your band doctor! describe what you're experiencing and see what he says. you should not feel pain when you drink or eat.

I have had the same thing happen to me. I was doing great with the lap band. 50 lbs in 5 months. one day last October, I swallowed a drink of water and it felt like I swallowed a golf ball. After that every time I ate anything it would cause severe pain in the bottom of my stomach. I thought it had slipped. My surgeon has been trying to adjust it ever since then. right now i only have 3 1/2 cc in and that's all I can stand. any more fluid and it hurts so bad I can't eat anything except broccoli and cheese soup and oatmeal. I have had a barium swallow study done that didn't show a slip and just had an egd this week that showed a healing ulcer in one spot and another ulcer or irritation. I am waiting to see my surgeon in 2 weeks. since October I have only lost 10 lbs. Part of the problem is I am so down because the dr acts like there is nothing wrong. I am getting so frustrated. Let me know what you find out, I am curious. Also taking prilosec may help you.

I had that happened to me about 2 months ago. I went to the doctor and he said my esophagus is very irritate and swollen. Everytime, I eat or drink, I will have sharp pain and lots of gurgling sounds too. He put me on Prevacid and let me stay on liquid and mushy food for a while. It took about 2 weeks and I feel normal again. I also suffering the same thing as we speak because of the bronchitis thing that I am having. I am going to do the same thing and see what happens.
