Congratulations on taking your first step. I would say take things one day at a time and ask alot of questions. You are in the right place. There is alot of information here. If I had this to do all over again I would do it in a heartbeat. If you follow the plan that your doctor gives to you, you will be successful. I won't lie, the surgery does hurt but that's what your pain medication is for afterwards. It takes about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks to be back to normal. Remember you are doing this for you, not your friends. It's pretty suprising when you start losing the weight how differently people look at you. In a good way that is. And the compliments you get are pretty awesome. I have to admit my self confidence was pretty much in the crapper before my surgery. Now I feel much better about myself.

Anyway I wish you lost of success and please feel free to ask any questions you like. We are all here for each other.

Im 20 and doing surgery in march- Im a self pay so it went a lot faster- i think that once you decided to do it dont look into it too much- yeah there are important things to know but if you try to quantify how muxh it hurts, how many side effects youll just freak yourself out unnecessarily.... I am also keeping this a secret- as long as you have 1 person to help/support you in the process youre fine (like a MOM)

Good Luck!

My advice to you: Make sure you know what you're getting in to. Read read read and read even more. Read until you're sick of reading about surgery and bands.
