I am sooo hungry!

I was banded 11/19/09. I have been so hungry for the last several weeks. Is this normal? I am suppossed to have my first band fill on 1/6/10. Do people noticed a change in hunger right away?

You might want to give more details such as were you on a diet pre-band? How much and what sort of foods are you eating now? How often are you eating? Are you following your doctor's recommendations now? Do you have a nutritionist?

The band affects everyone differently. I get hungry, but it's not like it was before banding. I wasn't hungry for more than a week after banding. Sometimes it's head hunger, not physical hunger you are dealing with. More info is needed.

After my surgery I was pretty hungry the first few weeks without solid foods. My surgeon said that's normal because the band isn't filled. It took several fills (a couple months) before I felt any restriction. In the begining I thought the band wasn't working because I felt hungry after eating the recommended portions sizes. Everyone's body is different, you may not have the hunger feeling after your first fill.
