HELP....insurance info!

I have BCBS CA, and I really would like to know if anyone has BCBS in CA and what they required of you. I am hearing horror stories about how it took FOREVER and people had to do a 6 month diet. I really would love some comforting news, and anyone who can recomend a surgeon in SO CAL would be appreciated as well! BCBS what should I expect?!?!

hi there -

most surgeons offices know what is required for each major insurance company.

I've ben on this board for over a year and here is what I've found-

if you have HMO you need to be referred by PCP, and you will need a 6 month supervised diet meetings with nutritionist regularly and a pysch visit

if you have PPO the its reduced to 3 months

Once you have made your journey then the sirgeons office submits all you info and hard work to the ins company and gets their approval.

For referals I'd suggest checking the threads broken down by state then city

also under community(top of page) select social groups and there is one for socal bandsters.

Good luck
