  1. Look at this site there is a pretty nonbiased chart comparing band sleeve and bypass if this link doesn't connect go to trueresults.com http://www.trueresults.com/weight-loss-surgeries
  2. You can do it !! I just made 299 .I started my pre op on 3/23 at 339 lbs!! That was my first milestone also !! Good luck !!
  3. Congratulations in ur non scale victory (NSV) !! I know it's hard but the numbers are obviously changing if ur fitting smaller clothes.maybe try measuring your arms thighs and hips and waist line watch those numbers for a while cuz they are going down and I think you should celebrate that !!
  4. Congratulations in ur non scale victory (NSV) !! I know it's hard but the numbers are obviously changing if ur fitting smaller clothes.maybe try measuring your arms thighs and hips and waist line watch those numbers for a while cuz they are going down and I think you should celebrate that !!
  5. I can eat everything so far. have to be extra careful with chicken and pork if it's dry.other than that I can eat everything.but I've only had one fill so that can be it.I'm losing about 1 LB per week so as long as I keep losing I won't get a fill and hopefully keep being able to eat everything.:-)
  6. All meat is protein.my favorite easily digestible is Talapia (fish) and eggs. Thee other posted other things that are high innprotein like ,beans,Greek yogurt.but to follow the band rules for me that's meat first (fish ,beef, chicken,
  7. @bigenuff - 1600 cals for moving furniture... definitely off... I DO know that you do expend a lot of calories that way... Yes I think I'll do what another poster said and add it at 75%
  8. That's AWESOME !! Very encouraging post !!
  9. Many people (myself included) didn't eat 3-5 meals before the preop.if u were a "one meal and snack on junk all day"person and now ur eating all these scheduled meals, ur body just may be adjusting and holding on cuz it's not used to it.I'd suggest giving it a few more days until ur body realizes that this is the new way of eating .im sure u will start to drop lbs.
  10. Congratulations !! Welcome you will find a lot of support here and u will see the same question asked 50 different ways and people eager to give the answers! Goodluck !!
  11. My best friend is a kaiser patient.I don't know a lot but she is going through 12 weeks of classes .She had to push her PCP to refer her cuz they didn't want to do it.I know in the classes they will try to steer to toward the sleeve of bypass. They say the other ones are better but I think it's financial.Kaiser performs the sleeve and bypass but contracts out the Lapband which costs them more money.Goodluck in your journey .
  12. Congratulations ! Welcome !!
  13. Way to Go !! Congratulations !!
  14. I've heard for every 30 lbs lost adds an inch to the penis.
  15. I think people do that no matter what the situation .but are they saying it positive or negative. Cuz if u say " she use to be fat but wow she looks great " is differen from " yea she use to be fat and that band is gonna fail and she gone gain it all back!" OR " her husband use to beat her but she finally found the strength to leave" is differen than "her husband use to beat her so I'm sure the next guy will too" it's human nature to identify people from where u knew them it's just about how.
  16. It's ok it happens.just see what u did differently.for me I gain 3-5 lbs a week before my period and I notice I fluctuated up last week.I figured out I wasn't getting my water in .
  17. AWESOME !! I can't wait to be called a skinny bit_h ! :-) great job thank you for sharing !!
  18. I agree with u all ! I have seen bandsters tell the reason they chose the band and wish the person goodluck that was considering the sleeve.but sleevers seemed programed to just bash u.we need to support each other no matter what surgery we chose cuz we all chose what we thought was best to try to live a healthy long life.
