  1. OMG it's great to find some fellow Irish on here!! Im delighted now lol well im not banded yet, but I really think I am going to go ahead with it. I am 30 yrs old, 5 6" and 210lbs, I have about 70+ to lose. Iv lost them loads of times before but i cant keep them off  I have already been for a consultation with Haven Cosmetics, but backed out at the last minute.. I was in the bank, with the cash in my hand, with the lodgment slip filled in and everything and I just took a panic attack in the bank  I'd swear it was my Aunty Ann looking down on me.. anyways, they went tits up there a few weeks ago, he was a pure gangster so now im researching where to go to have it done. I have heard wonderful things about Dr De Bruyne in Belgium, who quoted 4100 for the op, accommodation for myself and my partner for three nights in Belgium and all taxi fares etc. The gas thing Is Cosmedico who are agents for Dr De Bruyne quoted me 6900 and 150 for each fill afterwards :tt2: Oh they do love to rip us Irish off dont they :lol:So by booking it direct im saving a fortune. They charge 220 for each fill if they DONT do your operation so im still saving.. However, now Iv found another clinic called Auralia here in Dublin who are doing it 4900 including a years aftercare and theres no need to go abroad Have any of you heard of them or what they are like? I would love to hear from Irish Bandsters and what your experiences have been like..
  2. Ok do I have this right.. After the surgery I have to go on liquids for TWO WEEKS  OMG i will starve.. are you hungry during this phase? I can imagine that after the surgery you dont feel like eating for some time but I dont know if I'd last that long on liquids
  3. Hi guys, I was wodering if any of you Irish bandsters have heard about this new clinic called Auralia in Park West in Dublin? They are doing great packages considering this is "rip off Ireland" I dont know how long they are established though and would love to hear from anyone who was banded here?? Many thanks!!
  4. Hi there, thanks for the reply, do you mean that Dr De Bruyne has been on Oprah and that he is a founder member of the band? Wow, now that is impressive..
  5. Hi everyone, Im hoping some of you can help me on this. I am based in ireland and as I have a bmi of 33 I am apparently not big enough to qualify for having the band in Ireland and if i did my medical insurance wouldnt cover it. There is a clinic over here who make bookings for a very well renowned surgeon in Belgium called Dr Christiaan De Bruyne who I have heard wonderful things about, but they are charging 6900 euro for the surgery and one years after care, while his site has the same op available for 4100 euro. I am torn between booking it directly with him and cutting out these robbers  but I am thinking about my after care. I know he visits the UK every week, and I could fly over to meet him i suppose but this would be very inconvenient. Are there any others out there from Ireland who have been banded by Dr De Bruyne? I would love to hear from you. I know that if i tired to book my aftercare seperate over here i would be RIPPED off.. But it still might be cheaper in the long run!!
  6. Hi everyone, are there any Irish bandsters here? I really need some advice on who to go to and who is the best in this part of the world. Iv already had one bad experience and went to one guy who was really dodgy.. Im thinking of going to belgium now for it. Any advise folks??
