    Outrageous Octobers 2010

Hi everyone! I was banded Oct 15th and have lost 22lbs since surgey but have been lacking in the excersise department due to being sick and other health issues, I was supposed to have a fill Nov 19th but the docs office messed up my apt so now i should be getting one on dec 15th. I do find myself fuller quicker but snacking more so I bought choc rice cakes and feel better with thise lol or veggies! All together since my first doc visit i have lost 32lbs so thats good lol. Hope you all are well and had a happy holiday!
  2. I am 5 days post op and i am currently on full liquids....today i had light soup but ate (and chewed) the veggies and little pieces of meat. It stayed down ok but now I am beating myself up. It was a light soup with only 100 cal but I feel if I did it now what if I do it again?? I told myself I will not allow myself but I am just so down right now. It also doesnt help that a certain someone in my house is sooo supportive before surgery and then bought an entire cheeseake for me to see when i open the fridge, and also tells me it is ok to cheat at holidays!!! I have decided to have my own holiday at my parents because I feel they are supportive and so is my fiance....it is just so frustrating and I have no one to vent to. I went walking yesterday and felt pain so stopped I just tell myself when I can start excersising I will be alot better. I am even planning on joining a gym and i have an eliptical in my room. I just hope I can keep it up! thanks for listening

    funny feeling in my belly

I am not sure where my port is but i think i can feel it where the "moving or fluttering" happens. i see my doc on wed so i will let you guys know. Thank you for getting back to me!
  4. I have been having this feeling of something fluttering or moving on the middle left side of my belly. i am just scared because it happens when I go to sit, sometimes when i breathe, or when i walk. I have heard of the port flipping and I am just scared. Has this happened to anyone else or is this something I should ask the doc about. It's sat and i dont see him till wed im just scared.

I am having suture pain and leakage from the site in the front of my belly (went all over the bed last night) but its more annoying. I am also coming to terms with what i think is cheating and telling myself at least im not downing a can of pringles and all the halloween reese's lol

Banded on the 6th...I have no energy!

I am so glad i am not alone....I was also banded 10/11 and have no energy. I get little spurts where i will go to a store and try to walk (because I heard that helps) but after 1/2 an hour i'm sweaty and dizzy and return home. I too have had no luck with protein shakes and have returned to carnation inst brkfst today....beause between gas pain and nausea and dry heaving I have been a mess lol. I am counbting down till these pass by...i also see my doc on the 20th
  9. Thank you for your advice...I had cut my pills into quarters but after that came up I kind of gave up. I alos tend to not take the pain meds unless when i mover i feel my entry sites very sore. I know alot is gas and its soooo crazy how in the morning im ok but as the day progresses it just gets more painful. I have also been getting alot of nausea and yesterday threw up nothing....I have even took the pills my doc gave me to prevent nasuea and vomiting. I am just taking it 1/2 a day at a time and i am trying to walk around my lil apartment but told my fiance that tonight because its raining we can walk around a store while i can handle it:)
  10. I was wondering how my band-sister twin was doing! I am glad you are ok and doing well...please keep in touch!
  11. Hello everyone! Feeling a tad bit better this morning...hoping it stays. I am pretty amazing with pain also so I think this is why its so new to me lol. I have been taking liquid hydrocodone and it helps. I am taking thisngs slow but find that even though i am not hungry (but the belly growls lol) I love my tomatoe soup time lol! Thank you all for the advice i will pick up some gasx strips and pep. tea...yum!
  12. Hi there! I was banded 10/11/10 the day before you lol....and have been having the same thoughts and probs with gas and pain. I guess it also has to do with an entire life change and that is scary too! I am sure we will both be ok and in a few weeks will be back on here chatting about how happy we are like everyone else lol. Just keep up the fluids and rest, each day it gets better at least a little lol
  13. Thank you guys! I just got really nervous if this pain was normal when i breath deep? I was given liquid vicodin but have to take it with liquid benadryl because i get the itchies so when im not out of it i try to get up and move around. I'm just new and get myself worked up...i guess i am not used to this feeling on my belly lol and I am trying to make sure all this is normal. Also can't wait for the dicomfort to leave so i can move around better. Thank you everyone:blush:
  14. Surgery is tommorow at 6 am....really nervous, but mostly ready to get it done so i can eventually chew on some food lol:)

    A whiner

I am sched. surgery this monday...and I am a diabetic as well who was originally going for gastric bypass....but totally chickened out do to the complications and decided a week ago to switch to the band. I will keep you in my thoughts and hope you feel better soon. i am happy to have found a site where I can find others to relate to. I am most nervous about my blood sugars and insulin. I am type one and currently on lower insulin but i am also on a liquid diet. I just want to be healthy and have a family. Good luck to you, and to all of you who responded I am glad to see so many kind and concerned ppl:)

    Hi everyone

3 pounds is alot! I think if I wasn't on this liquid diet for 2 weeks I would not have had the weight loss i have had so far which is only about 10lbs...so my hat is off to you and good luck! Keep in touch it would be nice to have someone to touch base with in the same timeline lol:biggrin:

    Hi everyone

thank you to all who replied! I too am on the 2 week liquid diet. I was given Bariactric Advantage Meal Replacement shakes and couldn't stomach them so I am now tring to get in 5 Carnation Instant Breakfast shakes a day which is hard because I am type 1 diabetic and have to wait 4 hrs inbetween insulin injections. Now that I am 4 days away...the diet seems easier even though I find myself admiring food I look foward to at least some Soup after surgery. I am only allowed sugar free Clear liquids and Jello or popsicles...as well as the shakes and chicken broth. I have had a few days where getting fluids in was hard but did really well today! I am glad to find others going through or went through this surgery. I was originally going to get gastric bypass but couldn't come to terms with the finality and complications. I know it would of helped get the weight of quicker but I kind of want to work for it also from the start. I feel if I can do these two weeks I can do the rest of my life. The weight gain has caused me to have PCOS and in order to have a child I need to lose weight and get my diabeties under control and I feel inside this surgery will be a tool to help!
