  1. Woohoo Day 5 in the books. No major problems. Now all I need is smooth sailing till the 27. 10 days
  2. Yes let's keep this going. Great ideas
  3. Well today has been interesting so far. Only got about 30 min of sleep last night. The bad thing about it is that I usually use carbs to overpower being this tired. Not so much. Other than that things are peachy. Preop is going alot better than expected so far. Thanks for all the support. Chris
  4. Evening all. Day 3 coming to a close. No cheating yet. Although the brownies my wife took to work sure were tempting. Working on dinner now. Have fish and roasted vegies in oven then off to bed. Have to get up around 1100 to go to work. Have a wonderful evening ladies and I will catch up tomorrow
  5. Good luck bob. Just take things one day at a time. If u need support look me up on here. I can try to help keep you motivated. I am getting banded the 27.
  6. Well it looks like day 2 down and no major problems. Had a chick-fil-a grilled ckn breast for mid day snack then my salad for dinner. Still only about 800 cal but feel really good
  7. Thanks for that info. I will pass along to my wife
  8. Welcome Erick. Glad to hear things went so well. Hopefully I am lucky enough to feel like going anywhere the day after. Good luck and keep posting to let us know how ur doing Chris
  9. It really is all about a lifetime lifestyle change in our eating habits - and till that sinks in your head - you are going to struggle - IMHO - cuz you are going to keep trying to going back to eating what we consider normal - and we all know what happens then.. I agree totally. My co driver at work keeps talking about things not being on my "DIET". I keep telling him that's crap. I'm not on a diet. It's about changing my life, not just what I eat. So many things I do revolve around food. I hate that. I know it will still be that way after the band to a point but for different reasons. Now it will be because I am trying to plan foods that are healthy and band friendly instead of whatever crap I can throw together. The good thing for me is I do almost all the cooking in the house. So now I will have more control. From what we get at store to what is actually cooked for meals.
  10. It is the kraft light balsalmic vinegrette. I packed my salad in a large bowl so I can add my dressing and then shake it to death. Coat lettuce better that way.
  11. So far so good today. 2 hb eggs and yogurt for Breakfast. Sf Jello mid morning. Smoked turkey lunch meat and a slice of provolone cheese. Still not really hungry. Wild to see how little food it really takes to get me through the day. I have a salad planned for dinner with some smoked turkey pieces a few pomagranate pieces and a really good salad dressing I found. 25 cal 2 fat 4 carbs per 2T. Which is all I need anyways... Chris
  12. I was not really hungry at all. Two week pre op. Surgery is on the 27. Can't wait!!!!!!!
  13. Evening all. So today was first day pre op. Not really sure if this is good or not so here goes. My food for the day was as follows: Bf boiled egg and weight watchers yogurt. Had Protein drink mid day with 2 sf jellos and for dinner ocean perch baked with butter flavored pam and white wine. Roasted broccoli cauliflower and mushrooms with some green Beans. Now here is my question. This day was around 600 cal. I am allowed 1500 cal. I was around 35 carbs and 28g fat. I know this may sound crazy but I'm not sure it's enough. Don't want my body to think it is being starved. Any thoughts? Chris
  14. Morning all!! Last night I went to my local support group meeting. Found out a few things I didn't know. Alot of the things discussed were things I have learned from you guys. Thanks for that. Now to my preop diet. Holy cow. I am allowed 35g carbs and 35 g fat a day with no more than 1500 cal. The 1500 cal part is manageable but the low carb part i'm not so sure about. I had a chick-fil-a grilled ckn salad this morning with the berry balsalmic vinigrette. Just carb wise that is 35 carbs. Now I know my portion size is the issue but crap that sucks. Oh well it's only the rest of my life were talking about here. I really want to be around to enjoy it . GERONIMOOOOOOOO
  15. I use true results in euless. My dr is John Marsden. I really like them. They have worked harder for me then the group my wife went through.
  16. Good luck rockstar. Let us know how you are doing when u can.
  17. Ok. So I have a confession to make. I had one last fling before my final commitment. My wife and I went to Buca di Beppo, the best Italian food I have ever had. For those of you who don't know about this place it's probably for the best. It was our first time and all I can say is OMG! Now before you yell, we ordered off of the lunch menu. We had eggplant parm, and chicken saltimbocca. That was my last last meal. Did I mention OMG????
  18. Hi all. I am from the DFW area. I get banded on the 27. How is everyone doing?
  19. Another guy here.. Congrats to all who have started their new lives. Good luck to all the rest of us that are waiting to get there. I can't wait to get started on mine as well. My band date is Oct 27. Preop starts wed 13. Getting really excited.
  20. Actually my Dr is telling me 4-6 weeks with the shoulder. I figure I will be healed and back to normal from the band. I am doing them together so that I can use my short term disability. It will cover the shoulder. Ya I am being told that it will hurt, but I have been dealing with the pain now for two yrs. I'll take a few days of harsh pain to get my shoulder back to normal. I may regret saying that come 3 weeks from now. Dr has given me loritab for the last yr and it has done nothing. So they are giving me good stuff for post surgery.
  21. Hey apples!! I am doing good. Just waiting on the 13th to get here so i can start my preop diet. I watched videos on both of my surgeries this weekend. That seemed to ease the nerves a bit. I am more concerned about the shoulder work than the band. I am having the AC joint cleaned up. Thats mainly from throwing 100,000 to 200,000lbs of product a week at work. They are going to remove about 3/16in of my collar bone. FUN?? Thanks so much for the support so far. I may be leaning on yall between now and the 27. Chris
  22. Good luck. Just keep telling yourself why you are doing this.. I agree if you look for ways out now you will keep doing it from now on. Trust me I am one of those ppl. I start my preop diet on the 13th. My band day is the 27. I cant wait.
  23. I have been really nervous my self. I'm not getting banded till the 27. I found videos of the both of my surgerys on YouTube. I am having AC joint in my shoulder fixed at the same time that I get banded. The vids are really cool. I recomend watching them if you can. Good luck to all Oct bandsters this week. Will be thinking about you guys and waiting to here how you are doing. Chris
  24. Actually I do mostly in state deliveries. I typically leave out at midnight and am gone about 24 hrs. Some of my customers feed me. Some will even do special things for me. My bigest problem is going to be portion control. I know about eating healthy. Knowing and doing are two different things though. My father has been a diabetic for 38 yrs. My mother was a home economics teacher. I love to cook, in fact I do most of the cooking in my family, when I'm home and have time. Thank you all for the support you have shown me thus far. 3 weeks. I am going nuts waiting
  25. AMAZED1 I too get banded on the 27. I'm getting ready to start my preop diet next wed. Good luck to all today Chris:thumbup:
