  1. thanks a lot for the info! 8 pounds in a week, thats great, I'll have to keep your advise in mind. Good luck at the Docs.
  2. Thanks Hopeful, if you dont mind, what caused the damage to your sisters band. I am trying to educate my self on not screwing this thing up. Thanks again
  3. Phranp I love your answer! I have not had a fill yet and with Halloween just going by I know what your dealing with. Your not alone and I am dealing with the same issues. I feel like an addict, I see it, want it, say no and then 5 minutes later I eat it. I sure hope it gets easier. 5 weeks out and 2 weeks before my first fill.
  4. Thanks, I am still 10 days away from my first fill. This feels like its been forever since my surgery date. I cant help getting over the nagging feeling that I damaged my band. I figure I likely didn't, but a few times, I did over eat. I wasn't in pain but it certainly wasn't a half cup serving. I also cheated by eating some halloween candy. I feel like a crack addict. I saw the candy, told myself no, and an hour later had some. Not happy about it but at that moment of impulse I just did it. I just want to get moving. I have maintained my weight for the last month but I was hoping to continue losing during this time. I still exercise and try to eat sensable but the weight has stopped coming off. I lost 25 pounds before surgery than lost 10 pounds during my liquid diet. I read so many post on here and it seems like I am the only one having these concerns and impulse moments. Is that true or are people just not talking about it?
  5. Thank you for your posts, I have accepted that I'm on my own until I start getting fills. I called the doc and he also assured me what I am feeling is normal. This is pretty tough at the moment. I guess I didn't realize that when I was going to start solids again I would feel this way. I am hoping once I start the filling process I can start losing again. my doc made it a point that I stay on the south beach and minimal exercising until 4 weeks. well almost at 4 weeks so I get to hit the treadmill again. I've been walking but not very hard. I havent gained weight but I also havent lost. hopefully I will start shedding pounds again once a turn up the work outs. I cant wait to get this process moving again. thanks again!
  6. yep me too. Not very happy about it either.
  7. I am so glad I came across this post. I am 4 weeks post op and I am dealing with the same issues. I thought maybe some how I broke it. I still have 3 weeks until my 1st fill.
  8. My doc is suggesting I follow the south beach diet.
  9. I feel the same as I did before the surgery. I dont notice any signs of being full any sooner. Is this normal?
  10. hello, my surgery date was 9-28-10 and my doc has moved me back to solid foods. I have a huge appetite and I can eat as much as before. I feel so disappointed and concerned at the same time. should I be feeling restriction? once in a while I feel like i get a clog in my throat but it passes quickly. Could I have damaged this thing without knowing it? I dont get my first official fill until 10-12. man by then I might have put 10 pounds on. I really dont feel any different when I eat. I am craving everything bad. pizza, candy, soda...you name it I want it. Whats going on?
  11. I was banded by Dr. Posner on 9/28/10. I'm having somewhat of a hard time right now. I am healing ok, just very hungry.
  12. I completely understand, I have opted not to tell anyone. well like everything in a little town and a nosy family people have and will find out. I guess I am feeling the exact way you are in the sense that people don't understand. this has been one of the most challenging things I've ever done. I did this for me and to hopefully extend my life for my kids. My dad and his parents died way before they should have due to being morbidly obese. I am using what is available to me to get control of my eating. If dieting would have work then I would have done it. My Dr required me to lose 15% of my weight before he would operate. So I am prepared to eat properly once I am allowed Banded-sept 28th beginning weight-303 current weight- 272
  13. i just had my surgery on sept.28th 2010, I am having a hard time sleeping and it hurts to get up from any position. are you still having pains? My Dr advised me that I had a hernia that he fixed during the procedure so maybe this could be adding to my pains.
