  1. I am 2 months post op from my removal and felt the same as you do until about 2 weeks ago, it takes a long time for all the swelling to go down and the stomach to stretch out again. Hang in there and post an update on how you are doing.
  2. Do liquids for a few days but don't wait 3 weeks if you are not better!
  3. I have only been able to do a very small amount of dark meat even in soup. White meat is just too dry. Good luck
  4. I have been having issues with my band since the beginning. I had it placed in June of this year and have lost 35 pounds but have had reflux, burning, and pain starting about a month after surgery. I had no fill at all for the first 3 months, then because of pain the doctor removed what appeared to be air. After the air was removed I felt better and had a very small fill .5cc's about a week before Thanksgiving. I felt tight right away and got stuck on everything that wasn't a slider. I thought it would get better but it did not. Because I was out of sick time at work I went way too long to go back in to see the doctor and I suffered a lot of burning and pain. I have not lost any weight since November. I went and had the tiny bit of fluid removed and what air was in there last Monday. The doctor now thinks I need the large band put in the one I have now is 10cc which I guess is standard. I am so discouraged I just want it removed, all I eat is pudding, ice cream, and mashed potatoes everything else gets stuck or hurts. I need advice should I try the large band or say screw it?
  5. doing great 12 weeks post band 33 pounds lost no fills yet.
  6. has anyone else had this problem?? I am 4 weeks since banding and doing well but the constipation has taken a toll and now my lower abdomen is so sore it is all I can think about. It has been especially sore and crampy for the past couple days. I am doing benefiber but I am so bloated
  7. I was wondering the same thing, my surgery was June 28th and I am down about 15 pounds since the surgery. I feel alot of restriction and eat only about 1/3 cup or a little more each meal. I am trying to focus on protein. My surgeon seen me at 2 weeks post op and said next visit we will do a fill that will be the 6 weeks mark but I never feel hungry.
  8. I haven't had egg salad yet but I hope that works for me because I love egg salad
  9. awesome job, I look forward to buying regular sizes again it has been 20 years
  10. why are scrambled eggs so hard to handle with lap band. I have tried several times thinking they are nice and soft and they get stuck.
  11. I burp much more than I ever did and my stomach growls when I haven't fed it in about 4-5 hours. I am a little over 2 weeks post band and eat very little and what I do eat is all protein. The doctor says I am doing great but when I eat too fast I do get the chest tightness especially if I am full (5 bites).
  12. Hi Darlene, We were banded at the same time but I have been on mushies for 4 days and have also had a meatball, broiled fish, and today half a burger (no bun) my husband made on the grill with swiss cheese. I am also eating soups, yogurt, and cottage cheese. so far so good no issues other than the fact after about 4 bites I am full. I am working on eating slower
  13. I see the doctor for my first follow up visit, I am trying with my protein but the shakes are beginning to sicken me with just the thought but I did eat a meatball friday night and broiled fish last night which seemed to be ok.
  14. I am 11 days out and I am tired too taday but I did put in a full week at work so I am sure that is part of it. As much as I try though I can't get in enough fluid or protein so I am sure that has alot to do with it
  15. is it normal that it is taking so long for the swelling to go down. takes about an hour to get in a protein shake and 2 bites of mushies and i am full. I know I am no where near the minumum protein and calorie intake for the day but it just won't go in
  16. well that goes without saying, 3 bites of anything and I am full for 3/4 hours
  17. I am 9 days post op and doing great but I have a question, will I ever be able to have pasta or pizza again. I have seen posts that say absolutly no pasta or bread of any kind
  18. heating pad and light massage worked for me
  19. each day is better my banding was tuesday the 28th and today i had a no pain med day not even liquid motrin or tylenol. also spent the day at camp and went for a boat ride. i still am sore getting up and down but really tolerable
  20. I was just able today to drink tomato Soup and I was just banded Tuesday. I was also worried because besides sips of Water I could not tolerate anything but popcicles, not even the protein shake. I am getting about 40 oz of Fluid a day which is much less than the doctor recommendation but each day I can do a bit better. Check with your doctor but I am listening to my body and not pushing.
  21. I am having the worst time with the crushed meds they are disgusting. i tried them in juice and with pudding neither did much good it was awful and i gagged last night I don't know what else to try
  22. good luck it sounds like you are doing great and each day is a bit better
