  3. I was also told not to use straws, I was just banded 5 days ago and I have used a straw a few times. It really helps me drink my protein drinks. Can't do with out my Straws!
  4. I was banded yesterday morning and can't believe how good I feel... I am sore but the pain is bearable. I had gas pain yesterday but none today! I am a BIG BABY when it comes to pain so I am really impressed with the minimal pain I am having! My new Journey began yesterday and I am SO EXCITED! and I am so happy I have this site to help me with my Journey. Reading all your post got me mentally ready for my surgery. Thanks to all you experience Bandsters that post the good and the bad and give the new bandster some really great info!

  6. Do I have to name just one! LOL! A good juicy BURGER or anything at the chinese buffet.. those are the things I have been craving since I have been on my pre-op diet.
  7. WOOHOO! Praying for a Speedy Recovery!
  8. The sleeve removes a part of your stomach and cannot be reversible and is a Newer procedure. Lap Band just seemed to be a safer procedure from the two. I am not banded yet (surgery date January 11) so I am not an experienced bandster. But this is why I chose Lap Band!
  9. My surgery is January 11, I am starting to get anxious! I am on my pre-op diet and it has been hard but I am keeping my eye on the prize! I know this will not be an easy journey but it is the right journey!
  10. Oh that is so AWESOME! That is what I am hoping for is to be off my diabetic medication asap! CONGRATS!
  11. I am from Houston and am Self Paying for my surgery! I am on my pre-op diet and am scheduled for Sugery Jan 11! I have been trying for 2 years going round and roung with my insurance. They had me pay for a psych eval ($400) and all other kinds of stuff. and three days before my surgery last year I got denied. So I gave up and just said forget it. But I just kept with the yo-yo dieting. So finally my husband said let's just pay for it. You will be healthier and your diabeties will be under control. So here I am, just waiting till wednesday! SO EXCITED!
  12. WOW! That is Awesome!
  13. I am so sorry you dont have the support you deserve. I do believe if there is a will there is a way. I will pray GOD helps you and speaks to someone's heart close to you and you get the support you need.
  14. Do you have a smoothie King in you area? My Doctor says I can have the Gladiator drink there. I get the grape and is VERY GOOD! It feels like a cheat drink. I start my pre-op diet on the 28 so I have done lots of tasting on different Protein so I know what I like and dont like once my pre-op diets starts. To make at home I really like Isopure, I have to mix with fruit to take the Vitamin taste away and it works. I just buy the fozen fruit and mix in just a lil bit. GOOD LUCK in finding something you like.. I dont know how hard it is going to be for me after surgery but I keep telling my self I will just have to do it... I am self paying for this so I have to do whatever it takes to help the Lap Band Help Me!

Hopefully I can bounce back quick from my anesthesia. My co-workers and Boss are VERY excited for me so if I have to take a couple of more days I know it will be ok.
