  1. I had the sane issue !!! Make sure not to over eat now. Because u can over stretch the pouch and eventually slip your band. Eat sensibly. And it will come down on it's own.
  2. congrats on making the first step !!! its def the most important. <a href="http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/wg4BK7L/"> <img border="0" src="http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/wg4BK7L/weight.png"></a>
  3. Hi Nina, The most important thing you have to understand is that everyone has a different reaction to the lapband. Some like me, loose weight at a fast pace and some dont. However, you must be proud of yourself for the 25 you already lost !!! Also, you must also start working on your eating habits, have you tried going to therapy. Remember that the lap band helps us physically, but if your hunger is psychological then sometimes we have to take it a step further. Dont feel discouraged. fight on !!! slowly but surely you will get there !!! try to make healthy eating choices, and uptake your exercise routine a bit. you would be surprised how much that has a change on your weight loss. GOOD LUCK JR
  4. a SUCESS STORY. doesnt always consist of someone who lost over a 100 lbs......there are people on here who have overcome SO MANY other issues beyond weight loss. keep an eye out you will see many stories that are hertwarming. !!!
  5. STEPH951: when i first started this journey 185 lbs to lose. I have since lost 175 lbs !!! please DO NOT be discouraged. take it 5 at a time. Make sure to set yourself many small reachable goals and youll c in no time youll be well on your way there !!!! the most important part is getting started and sticking to it.
  6. Lets face it. There isnt one BIG person in the world who doesnt dream about ebing somewhat at a regular weight. I was on that same boat before you. I was a compulsive and addictive eater. Therefor my weight gain was at a fast pace. The lap band however CHANGED MY LIFE. After getting the lapband i realized what real living was. I saw the weight coming off and i got more and more motivated. If you do choose to do it. you will see how your food addiction will turn into a LIFE ADDICTION. you will because addited to the new lifestyle and how GREAT it makes you feel. GOOD LUCK with your decision. J Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Nutrition Facts For Foods
  7. BRUINFAN: Please think about this carefully. Weigh the positive and the negative. I can honestly tell you from personal experience that getting BANDED was the best thing i have EVER done in my life. I struggled with weight loss all my life. and this band came as a miracle to me. The band ( if well taken care of ) can not only help you lose weight but help you keep it off as well. I am glad that you think you can do it on your own, as im sure if you put your mind to it you will. But getting the band does not mean you didnt do it on your own. You can become a weight loss champion by putting that motivation to do it on your own together with the lap band. Best of luck to you Jr Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Nutrition Facts For Foods

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS !!! i have been feeling the same way until about a month ago. i took a strenght training class and i was up by the mirror. All of a sudden i looked in the mirror and saw what everyone else had been seeing this entire time. Im down 175 lbs so far and i just couldnt see it until that day. ISNT IT WONDERFUL??!!
  10. Its important not to loose focus on why you are getting the band in the first place. The money should never be a deal braker. I was self pay and top of that had it done at NYU making my costs a little higher then usual. I paid over 16K I dnt regret a single penny. Its not 9 months later and I'm down 140 lbs !!!!!! The important part isn't how much you paid its how much motivation you have to change your life around. Good luck fellow bandsters!!!
  11. kab1278: You need to try to let your body run its natural course. Start eating but be very mindful of WHAT your eating as well as HOW MUCH of it your eating. Stick to vitamin enriched foods and stay away from anything preserved or with high amounts of sugar, fat, sodium. From now on you must start to be mindful of everything youre eating. for the first couple of weeks if it helps keep a journal of what youre eating. It might help you see what youre doing RIGHT or WRONG. Good Luck
  12. Most Drs dont recommend having caffeine for the simply fact that it helps dehydrate your body. And as we all know having the band in we are recommend to have 8 glasses of water a day for hydration purposes. Drinking with a straw however is a touchy subject because i have personnaly felt the effects of the gassy feeling after drinking with a straw so i stay away from it.
  13. Love the greek honey yogurt... be careful of the honey yogurts...they contain alot of sugar and are mostly highly caloric.
  14. i personally only drink the ESN synthax Protein shake...its a powder but it is DELICIOUS!!!! they have AWSOME flavors like vanilla ICE CREAM and MOCHACHINO....try it its a little higher in the calorie scale BUT its worth it.. ive been doing fine with it.
  15. SARAHMARIE123: You must now get ready to completely change your relationship to food. Be prepared NOT to be hungry or starve BUT instead to deal with the changes your body will require of you. From now on you must be your own judge. The hardest part is deciding how much effort you want to put into this journey you are about to embark on. Your effort will equal your accomplishments. As for the question. Try to find things to occupy your time so you are not thinking about food. Such as walking. going out. shopping. try not to watch too much tv due to the INCREDIBLE amount of food commercials. watch movied or just come on here!!! GOOD LUCK!!!
