i do not know the reason it failed, my assumption is that the doctor i went to does better with virgin sleeves than the band to sleeve. i know several other people (virgin sleevers) who went to him and have done fine, i read about another person on here in my same situation who went to the same doctor and had to have hers done again after her revision. i have been in contact with dr kelly through email and i wanted him to do my last surgery but i saved a few bucks by going to the other guy. i dont want to make that mistake again, but they are both very close in price and people speak highly of both of them so im confused and hope to find someone who has had a resleeve with either of them.

im from oklahoma city. im looking for a mexico doctor to do my resleeve (i had a band to sleeve revision a year ago that has failed). im confused and stressed about choosing the right doctor since this will be my fourth surgery (2 with the band and one with the sleeve already) im hearing good and bad about the 2 im considering, dr garcia and dr kelly. i would like dr aceves to do it but he is way out of my price range. any suggestions?

Hi everyone! i have not been on here in a while and i need some help. i was a band to sleeve revision a liitle over a year ago and it has failed. i lost 20 pounds on the liquid diet when i came home but have gained that back and i am slowly gaining despite diet and exercise. so my question is....have you had a resleeve with dr garcia or dr kelly in Tijuana? i would like to hear from anyone who has had to have their sleeve redone and possibly anyone who was a band to sleeve revision that failed. thank you, shaundra shaundrabarnett@gmail.com

hi, i havent been on here in a really long time but im back and wanted to answer your question...kind of. i was sleeved 1 year ago after having the lapband and it has not worked for me. its like i dont have a sleeve at all i have been so bummed out. called the coordinator for my surgeon and she said i can have a "resleeve " but i will have to pay of course or maybe i should convert to the DS. so im sure there are people who have had to revise after the sleeve, i know a woman who actually had it done today because she hasnt lost any weight either. i have not heard from her yet but im sure she will post on here soon with an update.

well i didnt make it to my goal but i have lost some. started at 159 current weight is 151 lbs to goal 11

im not losing either it started out great with 15 pounds gone in the first week, but im a month out today and i have lost nothing more since that first week. it sucks!

what is the 5 day pouch test? i dont think my pouch is small enough.

i was sleeved by dr almanza 18 days ago. i made a video journal of the hospital and recovery house. the first few minutes are of the scenery on the way to the hospital, but watch all of it. it will show you where you are going. the link is in my signature. shaundra

i want you to make your own decision, but i had the band for 4 years and i have hade the sleeve for 17 days. i wish i would have started with the sleeve and never had the band. its totally different...like night and day. the band is a lot of maintenance and for me i never found that sweet spot. i was either way too tight and throwing up everything i ate or it was too lose and i would gain back what i lost from vomiting. i hope you make this decision on your own and make peace with it before surgery, but my opinion is get the sleeve. ive done both and i can tell you i hated that damn band and im so happy its gone! have you been to the thread on here "band to sleeve revisions"? there are quite a few of us on here and im sure you can read other stories about the differences between band and sleeve on there. dont be nervous... i know its scary ,i had 2 band surgeries and 1 sleeve surgery. i was scared too, but you will be so happy when you start losing weight. good luck! shaundra

hi everyone! just wanted to share what happend to me today. i had an appt monday to get my stitches out but over the last 2 days i developed a SEVERE itchy rash all over my stomach. i couldnt handle it one more second, so i called to see if i could get in today. i was in luck and got in. i had my stitches removed and all the old glue from the tape removed from my skin. the doctor also told me to use hydrocortizone. i am finally getting some relief from the intense itching and the best part is when the nurse weighed me today i was down 5 pounds since tuesday! thats 5 pounds in 3 days!!! the scale finally moved WOO HOO!!!!!!

thank you everyone for the encouragement. im 7 days out now and still waiting to lose a pound. i have to admit i am frustrated and wondering if this will work, so i guess its just a waiting game now. fingers crossed!

omg!!!! im going crazy! i have a terrible red rash all over my stomach and it itches so bad i want to rip my skin off!!!!! its either the stitches or the tape over my bandages. what did the dr tell you guys to do about yours? i dont get my stitches out for 4 more days

honestly, i have no energy. i didnt have much before surgery but now i have none. i still havent lost any weight either. im 7 days out now and im hoping i will see something soon! i dont want to be that one girl who got the sleeve and it didnt work for her. congrats on your 20 pounds. yay! i bet that feels great.

thats awesome! you had your sleeve a few days before me right? i had mine on the 10th.i started on full liquids today (finally)! this morning i opened up a can of broccoli cheese soup and put it in the blender with a little milk and it made 3 bowls, each 4 oz. i had one for lunch and was really satisfied compared to the last week of liquids, but i did not feel full. i guess its still a liquid so maybe something else will give me the full feeling. i did slip up a little today though. i ate one dorito and a bite of cake, im not really feeling too guilty about it but i know it was wrong. i love chili so maybe i will have to stop by quiznos in the future. how is your weight loss?

hi vickie! you are not alone!!! i feel the same way. all i have thought about is food, all kinds of food. ANY kind of food! i want to eat things i never cared about before, my stomach is growling so loud you can hear it from across the room. im sure theres an explanation, but i just dont feel right. i feel spaced out and exhausted. i havent had any food for 7 days now, so tonight when i couldnt handle it one more second i grabbed a ritz cracker and nibbled it like a little mouse. lol! it helped me for a little while, but those thoughts are still running through my mind. i dont know how much longer i can do this. when do you get to move on to better stuff?

i think it was your post i read, but i didnt want to put names out there i feel a lot better that you also gained 2 pounds.i need to just give it time im sure.congrats on your weight loss!

awww! its so cute that you said tum tum. every day when i called my 5 yr old daughter from mexico she would ask me how is my tum tum doing.i missed her like crazy! that was awesome!

thank you and i know i shouldnt compare myself to others, but im so bummed. is it common for weight gain after surgery?

i just had surgery 5 days ago and my antibiotics are huge. my patient coordinator said most people can take the pills just fine after surgery. i havent had any problems.
