  1. I have had horrible eating habits, which did not change when I got the band. The band only changes your stomach, but it does not change how you think about food, you have to do that on your own and that is the hard part. I often 'forget' I even have the band... Im being honest, i really thought everything was going to be different then it wasnt...
  2. It is normal especially if you over eat... I find that walking makes is better. Also holding your breath for a bit helps ease the pain.
  3. Thank you for posting this, I have not lost (or gained) any weight and will be getting my first fill 8/5...hoping that will help move the scale.
  4. Just saw this and I am joining today! I need some workout motivation. I see that many people have huge goals, but I am doing 48 lbs, which seems impossible right now...let's see how this goes.

Good for you! I also felt that the warm soups and broths were more filling than the cold shakes and drinks. How funny, I told my husband that the gas pain in my shoulder hurt worse than my tummy! Oh and I also walked around my house the first week as I live in TX and it is too hot and humid to be walking outside. Good luck!
  7. Yikes! I was wondering about this since I have my first fill 8/5/10...now I am scared! My poor tummy is still sore from surgery...
  8. I think it was the exercise that I was missing, I have been working out as of day 9 post op and have started to see movement on the scale! Thank you all for your support! I have been able to eat "normal" food as of day 4, just drastically less than before, and the second I feel full the band tells me and I stop, where before I would finish EVERYTHING in sight before I stopped eating. I was on a pre op diet which is where I lost the initial 7 lbs. Thank you all for sharing you experience and words of wisdom with me!!! :tt2:
  9. I live in Mansfield, TX, I bought a scale the second day after surgery and have weighed myself every chance I get! I have not lost ONE pound...also the surgey center called me the day after surgery but I have not heard anything from them since. I have my first fill scheduled for August 5th. I am feeling like I will be the person who this does not work for  I feel well enough to start working out so I may start with the elipticall tonight. Keep me posted on your progress!
  10. I was banded on 7/9/10 and have not lost a single pound... how long after surgery am I supposed to start losing weight? I have been eating WAY less than before I was banded, but the scale is not showing this...HELP!
  11. I was banded on 7/9/10 by Dr. Marsden. He was great! I have not had any problems, I think the worst part was waking from surgery, and I think my shoulder hurt worse than my stomach, because of they have to pump some air into your body while you are under. I had my surgery at True results in Richardson as well and i had a wonderful experience, the nurses and all staff are wonderful!
