  1. JULY 27TH!!! I am July 26 - my second day on liquid was better than the first - although I have moments where I am like .... no way can I do this. But I can - and you can - and we will!!!
  2. HA HA - I never thought about that!
  3. I can't imagine cheating....I just feel like I am being tested. Plus - two years ago I was diagnosed with fatty liver and I think my liver probably needs all the prep it can get Plus - it is temporary.... I can do anything for two weeks if you promise me I will ultimately lose weight.
  4. They won't give me my exact time until I do the pre-op appointment. She only said that I would be in the morning. We will find each other I am sure
  5. Wendy - I am day 2 of 14 of the preop. It is not easy - but I have had 2 great days and I can do this - I CAN DO THIS. The kids are really funny...yesterday, they spent the day asking "can you eat this? can you eat that?" - and then today, they decided they wouldn't eat anything with sugar for the whole day. So funny. This is the point though - they need to be cognizant of what they put in their bodies - and man, the preop is like HYPER COGNIZANT - so it is a good exercise for me - and also for them. They know what Protein is and how important it is for sure I felt like I had to wait forever for these days to come - it comes so quickly - you'll make it!!!
  6. I have not weighed myself since June 27 - I have been in Costa Rica since then. I KNOW - I am crazy doing the liquid thing on vacation.... even the doctor told me I was crazy - but I didn't want to put the surgery off anymore. I go home on Saturday at which point I will surely weigh myself!!! I am afraid to weigh myself every day - I did that when I did weight watchers for like 3 years and I started to really obsess and freak out. I say this now...let's see if I have the resolve. I met someone who was banded who told me she got rid of her scale and just stopped at her regular doctor's office every 2 weeks to weigh herself...oh the self control.... I think what you ate is awesome - we can do this - we can do this. At this time of night I start to feel proud of myself....it is like 1pm that I want to jump off a bridge!!! What do they do at the pre-op? 3 hours really??? blahhhh
  7. FF - how did you do today?? I hope well. I am doing okay - but I feel like I am hanging on by a string!! My husband keeps reading my list of reasons why I want to do this - that helps a little (a little).
  8. I had to see one shrink - the one my doctor recommended and I had to pay $200 out of pocket even though my insurance approved the surgery. If you had to see someone else after the first doctor's report, I might understand. But if you haven't seen ANY of the pyschiatrists yet, 3 does seem excessive.
  9. I had 4 shakes, a cup of sugar free Jello, 2 cups of lettuce with vinegar on it and a cup of chicken broth - oh and 3 cups of black coffee :grouphug: I have no idea how I made it through the day. I have two kids so I want to go home the same day - plus I live about an hour away so it is a pain. I haven't been asked about the incisions???? What is the choice? I am freaking out right now because I just got over a sinus infection and I am coughing all night long - and I wonder how I will do with the anaethesia.... arghghggh We can always find something to scare us right??
  10. I felt the same way and then I saw Dr. George Fielding speak at NYU Langone. The way he broke down the whole issue - it just made complete sense to me. If you go to his website, you can see a clip on the topic. I have my surgery in 2 weeks!
  11. My issue with my kids (9 and 7) is that I don't want them to be scared or worried - but I also don't want them to think this is a quick fix to bad eating habits. It is a hard balance. We talk alot about taking care of your own body so that you don't need to have surgery. We talk about this being low risk physically - but that it hurts emotionally - and that I don't want them to ever feel this way. They are pretty good about it - although my son tells me he doesnt want a skinny mom :grouphug: Now that I have started the liquid diet, they are kind of excited for me. And that is nice - to have them realize how much I want this. My new eating habits will only be good for them too.
  12. Yes - in the am. I go Monday for the pre-op at noon. 7/19 I am drinking the muscle milk light vanilla shake - it actually is not bad...but I am a little delusion from lack of calories at this point today!!! I know each day gets easier - but today has been ROUGH. I keep reminding myself of all the reasons... there are so many reasons.... focus....ahgdhl;fkadjs;fkdjas;fkajsd;f :grouphug:
  13. Today is my first day too - and boy, I have run the emotional array... I have cried about how awesome the change will be....I have moped about wanting a cookie... I have lied in my bed and thought, I will never make it. And it's like only 7pm.... HAHAHAH. I know tomorrow will be easier and so on and so on - but how dramatic can I really be? Keep rocking the soups! That's awesome.
  14. I am getting banded on July 26 at NYU too!! Just started the liquid diet today and all of a sudden I feel nervous... excited - but nervous. I guess through the process of getting approved, I sort of lost touch with reality - and bam, here it is. Who is doing your surgery?
