  1. So I recently started tanning at a tanning salon ( I know it's really bad for my skin, but in an effort to restore some self esteem I figured being tanner might help) Anyways while I was tanning tonight I randomly wondered if there is any way it could effect my band!? Probably a silly question but I have never seen it discussed on here....Anyone have any idea??? thanks

  8. I haven't watched the show but having been through the "lap band talk" with my family and friends I have learned that it's a very personal decision. While I do want the support and acceptance from my family and friends-in the end it's a decision that I made. The day I planned on sitting my family down to tell them about my decision to get lapband, a family friend had died of "lap band complications." It was really a heart condition but because she had just had the lapband it was immediately blamed for her death. As with any surgery there is a risk but it is a personal choice that I had made. There are always going to be people who do not agree with any decisions we make in life...a tv show isn't going to detour me from doing what I want. Just my opinion.
  9. I think the 48 hours before surgery were some of the hardest hours for me! I had the worse headache-caffeine withdrawal! My point is-if you're gettin' through this then you're good to go! Great luck to you tomorrow and welcome to the world of being banded
  10. I found that I am able to push myself more on an empty stomach. I ate dinner last night and worked out about an hour after and the whole time I was on the elliptical I was concentrating more on keeping my food down. I think it's a personal decision though
  11. I've had 3...and I do not feel any restriction...
  12. I'm so happy to hear you are finally feeling restriction!!! I wish I knew the feeling! lol What have you been doing to work it?
  13. Well as i happy to hear I am not the only one, I am sorry that you have to go through this. I could imagine it would be even more frustrating if you've done everything and still no results. I have to be honest, this past week (literally since last Monday) I have eaten healthy. Just watched what I ate and how much. i exercised(30 min of cardio) 4 out of the 7 days and to my surprise I lost 7 pounds! Those 7 pounds were lost completely on my own. So yes I am happy that I've lost it but I have no restriction so I'm hoping as I get closer to restriction it will be a little easier...Since you're pregnant have you found that it is easier to control your weight with the band?
  14. 37 pounds is awesome! It sounds like maybe you need an un-fill? At the beginning I was experiencing the same things as you-I went in and the did a teeeny unfill and it was the someone flipped a switch! I immediately felt better.
  15. HOW EXCITING!!! Keep up the good work!
  16. Breakfast: Yogurt-granola on top with strawberries and bananas Lunch: Turkey, Avocado, Bacon, Little ranch dressing in a whole wheat wrap Dinner: small bbq chicken breast, small salad with vinigarette, and broccoli, LOTS OF WATER TODAY! WOO!
  17. Thank you! I just don;t like the feeling of failure. obviously no one does, but it's hard to know that i risked my life to go in for surgery and i haven't done anything to change my eating habits until very recently.
  18. I am almost 8 months out. I have lost 15 pounds (which was at the very beginning) but have not lost anything since. I have to be honest, I did not stick to the plan until very recently but I just do not feel like my band is even in me. I get so depressed when I see how much weight everyone else is losing. I am more than thrilled for those who have been successful, i just wish I could join you guys and say that I have lost a huge amount of weight. Does anyone else feel like it's not working for them? And for those of you have have been successful, what have you been doing!? Any response is more than appreciated!
  19. Breakfast: None (woke up late) Lunch: 2 grilled chicken tacos (corn tortillas) and black beans Dinner: Healthy Choice-Grilled Chicken Marinara with a side of cheesy broccoli (45 calories for broc) Snack: Light and Fit Yogurt with granola on top Drinks: water/ice tea
  20. Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs, slice of watermelon, 1 slice whole wheat toast Lunch: nothing. :/ ate a late breakfast and was super busy today! Dinner: Chicken breast, veggies, garden salad (small portions) Drinks: Coffee, Cranberry/Pomegranate Juice, LOTS of water!
  21. Thanks so much to everyone who responded! I feel like my band isn't even in me I am having another fill in 2 weeks so I am hoping this will help. What do you guys eat? Any good recipes?
