  1. How much were you running before? Re: shoulder - I've got a bum shoulder and while it bothers me a bit if I run over half an hour, it's manageable. After all, everything else is hurting, anyway, lol.
  2. I think I'll be doing that run either tomorrow or Thursday. We did some intervals at Crossfit today (400 m x 6 times), so I have not entirely been taking a break from running in the meantime.
  3. No rush. I'll PM you my address, just let me know how much it ends up costing when you ship it out and I'll pay you by Paypal.
  4. Yeah, you should have some carbs post-workout. I usually have a Protein shake - either Muscle Milk or a homemade one with 1% milk as the base.
  5. During the first 3 months, there's a lot of trial and error. You'll have a bite of something that should be "safe" e.g. cooked salmon for me, and then you are in pain, sliming, and sweating. Then next week it goes down just fine.
  6. Colonics in general are a terrible idea.
  7. Wow! My boyfriend's packed on like 10 lbs since we started dating 2 years ago.
  8. It's perfectly normal to crave things while you are on the post-op liquid/mushy diet, because you are limited to a very small number of foods - and in the liquid phase, they don't really fill you up, either. The important thing is to remember that you only have to endure it for a finite amount of days and that if you cave in, you'll feel very sick - or worse, damage your sleeve. You'll be able to try anything you want soon enough.
  9. Good for you! And I bet you feel a million times better NOT binging - if you had binged, you would've just felt even worse. Make this the first time you've adhered to your new habit of NOT stress eating. Next time you are challenged, you can just say, "I've already done this once before, I can do it again." I hope your son gets better soon!
  10. Sounds awful. If it makes you feel better, back where I'm from, these procedures are done without sedation.
  11. I'll take it, if you can shove them into a Priority International Small flat rate box, it looks like it'll be about $13 for shipping. Do you take Paypal?
  12. I'm a pretty lazy person, and I find that I'm bouncing off the walls quite often. You have a ton of energy once you lose the extra weight. It's not uncommon for me to actually have to talk myself out of going for a run on what's supposed to be my day off from exercise.
  13. Not related to protein at all - although, of course, it's important to consume lots of protein if you exercise regularly, but it's more to help rebuild the muscle faster. I think you are just pushing yourself a little too hard. I'm jealous of people like you, while I've certainly experienced the "can't-walk-down-the-stairs-ahhhhh" soreness before, it's only if I have someone breathing down my neck at the gym. If I'm working out alone, I just stop if it's too much.
  14. I totally want to have some chickens one day! I also want to live in the city, though, so we'll see what the bylaws are like once we buy our permanent house (currently living in a condo).
  15. DAMN! It's so random, yesterday a friend of mine messaged me about this race and asked if I wanted to do it. I don't have the best endurance and was worried that with the sleeve, a 2-3 hour race might be too much. But I guess I can't use the sleeve as an excuse then! Still on the fence about it, it would mean adding a LOT of running to my workout program.
  16. Can you specify the weight for the 2 bags and what's your zip code?
  17. I fretted over this for a bit because in my field, I can't afford to have a poor memory, either. Has not been an issue, thankfully. I mean, it's not like I've done some sort of standardized test before and after the surgery where I could objectively compare the results, but looking at my marks/job performance and just remembering day-to-day stuff, I don't feel like my memory has gotten worse at all.
  18. I'm the only chick at my gym who's always cruisin' around in her sports bra. Well, not always, but if I'm overheating, I have no qualms taking my shirt off. Granted, I lived in the US for a long time and I've found that Canadians are a lot more uptight about this sort of stuff. But I figure, if half the dudes are dropping their shirts, why can't I?
  19. Have slow carbs as your last pre-workout meal (e.g. steel-cut oats) and drink juice or Gatorade during the game. Any time you are working for longer than an hour, you should be taking in some extra calories; drinking them would be easiest, naturally.
  20. I didn't think it was too bad. If anything, we have more flexible schedules than a lot of people with full-time jobs, so while the total hours may be over 40/week, it's nice to have frequent breaks to hit the gym, have a snack, or cook.
  21. Good for you! I went through my pantry today and threw out quite a few unhealthy things. Post-sleeve, I throw out anything unhealthy that doesn't taste absolutely amazing. I don't want to spend calories on crap anymore. I kept the amazing peanut butter chocolates with Himalayan pink salt, but a whole bunch of licorice, old Cadbury fingers, and cake went in the garbage because they didn't pass the "amazing" standard.
  22. Here you go: http://www.fitocracy.com/profile/BlackBerryJuice/ The tough part will be remembering to track it all - I already track my stuff on a Crossfit website every day.
  23. Oh wow, I didn't know you did that! Care to post about your experience? Just curious to know what that'd be like.
  24. Aw, thanks! Good luck to you!
