  1. Seriously? That's all I can do, walk it off? That's what I'm doing right now. How long will this last? I ate 3/4 of a pancake like a dummy. Never again, never again!!!!
  2. It's the first time and I'm feeling the pain really bad in my tummy. It feels like that constipated pain you get when you haven't gone for like a week but of course I'm not constipated. Is there any way to make the pain go away fast? Please, I'm dying over here.
  3. I am 29 days post surgery. My first fill will be this Wednesday. I've never had anything stuck and of course my restiction is not that great right now. I'm sticking to my pre-op way of eating other than eating only one Protein shake rather than 2. So I guess size does matter after the first few fills?
  4. I never ever ever liked to drink Protein shakes. That's until I found Muscle Milk Lite. Not the pre-made shakes. No, that powder one. It taste's great. So much so that I'm drinking it every morning w/o milk. The chocolate flavor is the only one I can speal great about. vanilla grossed me out. I really want to try Peanut Butter but I'll wait. P.S. - Even my wife drinks it.
  5. I believe I was told that when cutting a solid or meat, it was important to cut it down to the size of a dime. I find that very hard. It takes me forever to even eat the smallest meal. Is this true? Does the size we put it our mouth have to be the size of a dime or a quarter? It's hard eating a 4 oz piece of chicken breast by cutting it into dime sizes.
  6. Amen sister, that's what I'm saying. I wonder if he meant it just for meat though. That would still be annoying.
  7. I believe I was told by my doctor's post op list that once I start solid food I must chew 25-30 times and then wait 2 minutes before the next bite. Is this true? Am I going to have to wait 2 minutes before every bite of my solid food life? I do stop eating at 30 minutes which is reasonable but I hate waiting two minutes to get the next bite. Oh by the way, I've been on solid foods for 2 weeks now.
  8. Okay I will. So far I've been great with portions. I've stuck to one Protein shake in the morning, and two meals mostly made up of chicken and salad. I just want to know if things will change once I have that fill. I guess it might not since many say it takes them many fills to feel restriction. I'm just glad I'm not feeling any eating pain like others I've read. First fill is next Wednesday.
  9. Hi friends, I'm the one who started the thread so I felt I should chime back in because I still have tons of questions. My problem is that I don't feel any uncomfortable feeling at all. I don't have watery eyes, drippage in the nose, or a pain under my breast bone. I have none of that so it's hard for me to know when to stop. I've so far limited myself to 4 oz of any Protein I'm eating. Mostly chicken. Also, I've never had a problem burping. Every time I'm on here I hear people say how painful it is to burp. I was able to burp straight out of the operation room. I know I haven't had my first fill so that's why I'm wondering if all of my non-symptoms is because of not having it yet. Thanks everyone, I can't wait to hear your responses. Oh, P.S, I ate some bread today, half a pizza and felt no pain. I thought bread, rice, and past were supposed to be a pain to eat.
  10. I'm 22 days out of surgery and I've lost 17 lbs amazingly. This week I started solids and I'm doing very well. My question is, how do you know when your full? I have not had my first fill yet. Is there some sign your body gives you because I'm not feeling it. Do you not feel it until you've had your first fill? Any help would be so awesome. Thanks.
  11. I am 21 days post op and am now just getting my full hunger back. For the last two nights I've heard my stomach growl and growl. Here is my question. I'm on solids right now and doing just fine. I don't know the amount of meat I'm supposed to be eating right now. I haven't had my 1st fill yet. Is 4-6 ounces normal or is it 3 oz now? I'm eating chicken and other meats, mostly Protein and some side lettuce. I just want to make sure this is not me not eating enough or the common 21 day post wall you hit before you've had your 1st fill. This kind of hunger reminds me of what I had pre-operation days.
  12. Eat anything you want since you have no small pouch?
  13. Is it the crust that you have to avoid eating or the whole pizza? What if I eat the pizza but avoid the crust, will that help?
  14. I quadruple that. I am so sick of the liquid diet as well. I am on day 6 after the surgery and I seriously can't even look at a Protein shake. They gross me out now. I'm only drinking one for Breakfast and then the rest liquids. How many Protein shakes are ya'll drinking? I can't wait to eat tomato soup next week. Thank heavens.
  15. Jamelyn, please fill us in on when the pain goes away. Thanks.
  16. Thanks for the good news KatyinLasVegas. I do use my heating pad but I'm scared it might burn a whole in me after how many times I"ve used it. Lol.
  17. Thanks for the advice stefaniwig. I've been taking deep breaths into the little apparatus they gave me before leaving the hosptital. Yesterday I went out on my own and walked but found myself tired and slow. Afterwards I did feel better though. One thing I can't stomach though is eating more than one Protein shake. Yuk.
  18. CoriCa, Hang in there. We're in it together. I still have my rib and shoulder pain but the solace I have is that the pain always goes away. It has gotten better every day but I just want to feel like I did pre-op. Still, I trust everybody when they say it'll eventually go away. I don't have the nauseous feeling just yet. The pain is annoying enough though.
  19. Hello everyone. I was just banded this past Monday, Aug 9th. My hiatal hernia was also repaired at this time. What I have noticed is a bad ache anytime I take a deep breath on my left shoulder and rib cage. I've been reading around and I now know that this is normal for those who also had hiatal hernia repair on the same day. My question is, when did your left shoulder or rib pain go away? I'm looking for those like me who had both surgeries on the same day laproscopically. I would hate to have a tight chest and ribcage everytime I take a deep breath. Any help would be great.
  20. I got banded this past Monday, Aug 9th and today is the first day that I feel my breathing is getting better. I didn't mind the soreness around the stomach or even the pain in your left shoulder. Not being able to take a deep breath was a killer. Now I'm close to reaching my goal for deep breathing at 2500. I can now blown into that little tube to 2000. Yesterday it was consistently at 1500. How's everybody else's breathing doing? Oh, and my Protein shakes bloat me so I think I'm going to only drink one a day .
  21. Thanks for sharing. I was operated on this past MOnday and I'm still having trouble taking a deep breath. It feels like chest is tight. I'm just hoping this passes. The Gas-x is not working for me and not the walking. Does it only go away in its own time. Also, has anyone been taking any anti inflamatory medicine? I don't know if we're allowed. What brand do you take if you do?
  22. Also, are any of you having trouble eating. I'm not hungry at all but I know the doctor told me to drink my protein shakes. It's just hard because I slowly drink them and then I feel more bloated. I'm not using milk, just plain old water. I can't wait for the swelling to go down so that I take in deep breaths again.
  23. Well I actually have both shoulders hurting. My chest feels like I can't breath in that deeply either. I know this all because of the swelling. Last night was hard because I had to keep going to the bathroom because of all the iv fluids they pump you with. Getting out of the bed was the hardest thing. I'm taking Gas-X strips for the gas but they don't seem to be working that well. I'll give it time. However, I'm sleeping on a recliner tonight. I want to be able to be comfortable getting up and laying down. How are you feeling today?
  24. I just had my surgery yesterday and I'm really excited about it. I read all about these post op healing and was prepared. So yes, I am bloated and it's annoying. I also can't breathe in as deep as I could yesterday pre-surgery. I'm assuming it's because I'm bloated out of my mind. The doctor also had to repair a hiatal hernia. Question: I know it's different for everybody but when does the bloatedness go away and did anybody else have trouble breathing as deep as before?
  25. Great question, I was just going to ask this myself. I just surgery yesterday. The bloatedness is a little annoying. I don't think I have any gas come out anywhere. I've been taking my Gas-X as well. I hope the bloated stomach goes away after this week. Also, I noticed that I can't breath in as deeply as I could before. Does anybody else have that problem? How about sleeping. It's hard to get in a comfortable position and then worse to try to get up.
