  1. Although I am happy with the amount of weight I have lost since being banded 4 months ago, deep down I don't think I believe I will ever get to my goal weight. I know this is wrong, negative and self defeating. I have been overweight for almost 20 years now and during that time I have lost a significant amount of weight once or twice but I was never even close to my goal weight. I guess I'm expecting these results again?
I love coming on these boards to read success stories. It gives me encougargement and hope.
Does anyone else share my demon thoughts?
    :scared2:
  2. I hope I make my goal...

Nov 8th is my 4 month band anniversary and I'm really hoping to have met my goal of a 50lb weight loss! My poor husband expected me to have hit -50 a few days ago and bought me a present. He askes me constantly if I'm there yet, its cute! The present is burning a hole in his pocket! LOL!
    2lbs to go!
  3. Oct 8th was my 3 month anniversary and I celebrated with an extra long workout . I completed week two of the Couch to 5k program this week as well. I have never been a runner but I'm loving it. I'm down 41lbs, I have so much energy and I feel awesome. I'm a quarter of the way to my goal, but a long way from onderland still. I can't wait for that day! I'm going to buy myself a kayak as a reward. I hope its not in the middle of winter - LOL!!! Other than the few people I have told about my band only one person has noticed my weight loss? Because of this I posted some pictures for the first time to see if I could see the difference. I feel very lucky to be at my sweet spot for 3 weeks already after only 2 fills. Life is beautiful! :frown:
  4. I am 2 and a half weeks post op and back to work today. Up to this week I lost 25 lbs but it has slowed right down. I know the weight loss is supposed to be slow but it felt so good. Patience is a virture - right?
I'm looking forward to my first fill which isn't scheduled yet. In the meantime I'll focus on eating right, exercising and enjoying the summer!
  5. Day 3 of pre-op diet.

Things are going much better than I expected on the pre-op diet. Today is day 3 and I'm surviving just fine. My pre-op diet consists of 3 protein shakes a day and up to 250 calories a day from low glycemic vegies, nothing else but water. 2 days done and 19 to go! When I think of doing this for 3 weeks it can get overwhelming so I'm focusing on hour by hour.
I'm generally 80% excited about my future, 10% nervous for the surgery and 10% nervous about my success. But overall I think I had given up hope of ever getting slim and healthy. Now I have hope and excitement for the first time in as long as I can remember. I'm so happy to be rid of the daily mental struggle to loose weight battling the daily dissapointment and discouragement from myself. Emotionally I'm 100lbs lighter already with the decision to get the band.
