  1. Welcome Debbie! I was banded on July 17th. I too had a hernia fixed. I am doing great now and am looking forward to my first fill, my Dr. does it at 6 weeks. I am trying to watch what I eat so I keep the weight that I have lost off while my band is loose. I hope you are through the gas pain stage, it was the most uncomfortable. Good luck!
  2. Hi y'all. It has been 18 days since being banded and I am doing fine. The second weekend was a trial, but after a lot of burping and belching and cramping we move on. I have lost 17 lbs. I drink a half cup of coffee every a.m.,with caffeine. I never thought about it. I need coffee to get my day started. Good luck.
  3. It has been two weeks today. I have had only one "PB" and fortunately that was at home. The gas gets to me still. I think it just doesn't want to leave the comfortable confines of my body. My biggest issue has been getting my meds down. I have to take it slow, on pill at a time. I think drinking lukewarm water helps. I am trying to walk everyday. Mainly indoors, baby it's hot outside! I am very happy with the LB. Hope everyone else is doing well.:cursing:

LOL how's week Two going? I have been okay. It seems hard to get enough protein. I have felt hungry a few times, but I have lost 15 lbs and that makes me sooooo happy. I live in AR., the heat has been intense for months, so I continue to walk the halls in my house and office.
  5. The night before is a time of great anticipation. Truly a new life is near. I didn't do anything special in preparation physically. I did get all my paperwork together, made sure I had my id, some cash etc in a little pile with my pillow for the ride home. DON'T FORGET THE PILLOW. It was a great comfort. Don't worry about an "accident" during surgery, the nurses will take care of you. Congratulations, you have made a great decision for yourself and your future. Let us know how it goes.
  6. I was banded last thursday, the 15th. Everything has gone pretty well. I have lost nine lbs so far. The biggest recommendation I have is to get up and walk as soon as possible to start getting the gas out of your system. It is so hot here that I did laps around the inside of the house. It work. Since the gas got out I have had some soreness, but not real pain. I have stuck with broth and jello. I have had miso soup with out the tofu, it was a big treat. Good luck and enjoy the journey. I am so happy I did this for myself.
  7. Sorry for the negativity. You have done a very positive thing for yourself and you should Celebrate that I have been careful with who I have told, but so far everyone has been very supportive. Your right to rant, and to come to the blog. Keep life positive and we will all be here for you.

I had surgery last Thursday. It went fine. I got the gas out. It was more painful than the incisions. It has been over 100 degrees everyday her so to exercise I did laps around the inside of the house. It worked. Today I ate miso soup, my first hot entree. It was good. I have to focus on hydration. I do get full easy. I have lost nine lbs so far.:rolleyes2:
  9. I just had my surgery on 7/15. All is going well. I have to get back to work soon. I own my own shop. Any pointers.
