  1. I really want to attend a meeting but there are none in my area
  2. That is a strange comment..it sounds like she could mean that since she has reached restriction that she doesnt "feel" she uses her band anymore..?? I mean I cant put words in her mouth but it does sound like a strange comment but if I were her that's what I would mean by it...
  3. Thanks All for the Encouragement!!! I'm gonna get off my butt and start moving!
  4. Your lucky you got Ins...I was self pay and at this pint in my journey I feel like I just paid $5400 for another diet...I sure hope my fill coming up works, I need to start exercising but cant find the motivation
  5. I know that exercise is one of the keys to weight loss but what can you do if you just hate it, have no motivation for it or body aches to much to do it???
  6. I am 6 weeks post op and the scale stopped moving for me after weeks 2. I hope that after I get a fill the scale will start to move again...Hang in there concentrate on healing right now not weight loss. Good Luck....
  7. I have a 4cc band with a current fill of 1.5cc...
  8. I'm 6 weeks post of and still feel twinges of pain every now and again in my port area especially early in the morning after a good nights sleep I will rub against the counter top and feel it...
  9. So I am 6 weeks post op and the scale has been at a stand still for the past 4 weeks. I lost 12lbs the first week but nothing since then...I been thinking to myself this is just another failed diet I'm not losing anymore....BUT tonight while out to dinner with my family my hubby took a pic of me with my daughter and I SAW IT! What is it you may ask? It was my face! It was thinner! So even though the scale has not moved I have been losing something and that something was fat on my face WHOO HOOO!!!:smile2:
  10. I know the hunger can get really bad but remember you all need to heal. Dont force your stomachs to digest right now it needs to rest and heal so the stitches can settle in. If you cant stomach sweet Protein drinks try Isopure Ready To Drink Protein Drinks. You can buy then at GNC and come in all kinds of different fruit flavors. I remember what it was like on the liquid stage and believe me it gets better just hang in there!
  11. I cant tell you which one is best for you but I can say that I got the Lap Band because I personally did not want my stomach cut up and I didnt want to have the problems that come along with bypass. I have 2 kids and a husband that depend on me and didnt want to take the chance of problems arising from the bypass. So far I am 6 weeks post op and am doing well I have lost 12 lbs now thats not a lot compared to others but I am happy with it and know that once I get my fills under my belt I'll lose better. Good luck on your choice.
  12. no there is nothing in the band to set off the alarms..I even have rods in my back and i dont set them off...
  13. WOW 32lbs in 5 weeks I dont think your doing anything wrong if your losing weight that fast!!!
  14. I have found that the head hunger is stalking me again and have taken up crocheting or making friendship bracelets to pass the time and not eat. What are some of you doing to combat head hunger?
  15. I too need a fill I get hungry often and can eat way to much October 19th cant come any faster!!!
  16. Because I am in "Bandster Hell" I often wonder if I should have gone with the sleeve. But I know that after I reach proper restriction I will be happier that I got the band. I dont want to deal with all the problems that come along with bypass or sleeve. So far I am happy with my band but know that I will luv my band after I get some fills under my belt.
  17. I did move on a few days ahead of schedule but ONLY after I got the ok from my doc...If you are feeling very hungry I highly advise talking to your doctor to see if you can move on early...Good Luck!
  18. Sounds like you need to increase your protein and calories I know that if I dont eat enough then I start to feel like you are...Good LUCK
  19. ABSOLUTLY!!! doesnt matter who paid for it you felt you needed to do something to better your quality of life and you did GOOD FOR YOU!!!
  20. I was banded 5 weeks ago and I remember going through that...I just kept in my mind that I need to heal so I stuck with all the phases of my post op diet. I was self pay and there was no way I was going to waste all the money I put down just to mess up my band with in weeks of my surgery. Just keep in your mind that you need to heal and that this is just the first steps to a new you...
  21. Yes carbonation is not advised when you have the lap band...
  22. First of all Congrats on taking the step to getting banded. It was a big step but really the most easiest. Cuz it's all work from her until you reach restriction. I am 5 weeks post op and still struggle with hunger and probably will until I reach proper restriction. Since you are still suppposed to be on liquids I assume since that is where I was 1 week post op I drank alot of Protein shakes made with milk, I made a cream of broccoli Soup that i pureed and strained before I ate it. I drank lost of Water and still had my coffee in the am with creamer. If you know that your gonna be hungry around 3 or 4 make sure you have your soup ready and a Protein Drink around 2 to head off the sever hunger that you know may come at 3 or 4....Hope this helps Good luck...
  23. No I wasn't a big drinker before I would enjoy some beer with my hubby every now and then but never hard liquor. I don't have problems drinking anything after the band so I don't imagine drinking alcohol would be a problem it goes straight through the band as would any other drink let it be Water, juice or anything else.
  24. A PB is what is known as a "productive burp" when you burp and food comes back up. it's not the same a vomiting cuz your not heaving just burping.
