aww i hope the cravings subside soon! I think that is how i am going to be with regular coke! I think they say you can't have it coz it causes gas?? heck i don't really know. I go for my preop on thursday..i will make sure to ask my surgeon. anyway...good luck to you!

Hi chriper...well you are doing better than i am.. lol i'm binging since i start on the diet wednesday! i think the hardest thing for me will be coke. I'm not a sweets person but a fatty food/take out i am! great to put a face with the name! looking forward to being 'buddies'

hi Nana...i'm starting mine in 4 days and will have the surgery on the 29th. I know what you mean about 'food' lol ...i have gotten alot of tips from this site and i hope to use them to make my transition and journey a lil easier! good luck to you and i'm looking forward to reading about your journey as well!

i had the endoscopy...thank goodness i had no pain.. i do remember trying to wake up and i felt like i was choking coz of the tube down my throat [when they were taking it out]

aww that a bummer! i'm sure someone will be able to be there for you. Heck if it were me..id call a taxi if i absolutely had to! lol... i'm having my surgery the same day...maybe we can keep up with each other to monitor our weight loss! good luck and God Bless!!

omg..i finally got my surgery date..sept 29!! i'm nervous but so excited! i'm ready to start my life as a healthy and active mom and wife! :confused:

My doctor told me i was borderline diabetic but that this surgery should take care of that...now the doc that is supposed to do my surgery won't do it coz my thyroid is too low..i have to get that in normal range before they will even consider me...so i know your frustration!! Good luck though!

Well the nurse called me today and told me my thyroids are three times what they should be and that i won't even be considered til i'm in the target range. sheesh....that won't be for a long while! bummer!

Thanks for the responses.. I'm afraid if i keep on pushing this nurse will get mad at me and really slow the process down! At this hospital they have three doctors that do the procedure but they let two nurses do the 'foot work' [this hospital is already one hour from me] the next closest is 2 hours. *sigh* Oh and i've been on meds for a long time now...so not really sure she knows what she's talking about. again thanks for the comments! I'll keep fighting the good fight! :thumbup:

I have been back n forth with my Dr's office for about 6 months now. If it's not one thing it's another...right now the nurse practioner says i have to get my thyroid levels in check. I'm not sure if this is coming from the doctor himself or she is just giving me the runaround. My primary doc said he didn't understand why that would keep me from having the surgery. I'm frustrated but the same time i want to go in knowing i'm safe. Anyone out there that has had hypothyroidism and still gotten the surgery?? :thumbup:

Does anyone know if having hypothyroidism hinder your chances of being banded?? I've been put off for 6 months now from my Dr office for one reason or another..now it's because of my thyroids levels!

omgosh...that sounds horrible..why does that happen? i've heard the term 'pb' as well...what is that? i take it it's not peanut butter? please explain! :thumbup:

Hey there..I've got Tricare. I did the sleep study and apparently i needed the c-pap. If I were you, I'd call the doc who went over the results with you and ask him/her to explain. Hang in there don't give up! :tongue:
