  1. I sent Jack a private message and I did not get a reply, so I'm a little worried! I wish someone new his email address or phone number that we could call and check up on him. Maybe he is taking one of those luxury cruises, the ones that sail for 30+ days.........
  2. I have a lot of nice suits, dress pants, formals, etc that I guess I will put on Ebay. My sizes range from 20 all the way to 14. I'm now in a 12 and they are even getting big and I just bought then 2 weeks ago - the funny thing is, I haven't lost a pound in 3 weeks! But I've lost inches!
  3. yum the gravy sounds yummy. I pretty much follow the Atkins diet myself.
  4. The following are celebrating their 6 month band anniversary this week - how are you guys doing? 5. I didn't sleep with mine last night and I am paying the price today - sooooo tired! I promise you this, I WILL be sleeping with it tonight!
  6. I'm at 3.0 cc's in a 4cc band and need more! I go on Friday to get another fill. We have a cruise planned 8/5 - we leave on 8/4 to head to Galveston, but the ship doesn't sail until 8/5. I have the same feeling, I don't want to be too tight for the cruise - but I don't want to be able eat everything in sigt either. This will be my 10th cruise and every cruise I have ever taken I have gained at least 5 lbs, sometimes 10 and onetime 15! So, my goal is NOT TO GAIN. Or at least gain less than 5 lbs. lol. So - I need a fill for sure. I want to be able to enjoy my dinner - (lobster) but I don't want to be able to eat 3 lobsters like i have in the past. Where are you going on your cruise? We are headed to Western Carribean on board Carnival's Conquest - 7 day cruise.
  7. Terry - sounds like you are doing GREAT too! 40 lbs, congratulations! How fun about Jamaica! I will be ther in August, we leave August 4th, so I think I will be in Jamaica August 8th, then Grand Cayman, August 9, then Cozumel August 10th - I CAN'T WAIT! Thats great about the doc report and the stomach looking great, no slippage or anything! Good news about the BP meds too!
  8. Juno - you can definitely see the difference! Your waist is much smaller, your cheek bones are more visable, you look GREAT! It's amazing what 20 lbs can do, I wish you would have taken a picture before that too, I bet its even more amazing!
  9. What an inspiration you two are! Congratulations! It's so wonderful you guys have each other, what a great support team you make!
  10. I take my measurements and use this website to figure my body fat: Army Fitness Calculator | Interactive Military Training Tools
  11. I just sent you another email with a great website on all the information! Now I can't pull up my article that I sent you earlier, not sure why???? Anyhow, sounds like you are on the mend! Good!
  12. Your already doing GREAT! Some people experience fast weightloss in the beginning, while others experience it after hitting the "sweet spot". I have experienced it in the beginning, but it has slowed down now. I haven't lost any weight in the past 3 weeks. But I'm okay with it, I am scheduled for another fill on Friday and I know the weight will start coming off again. Plus, the closer you get to goal, the slower the weight will start coming off.
  13. Well, I've only had 1 thing really stuck, it was a french friy - and I tried to "wash it down" with some tea - BAD MISTAKE. I did panic a little, but I coughed and coughed and up came the french fry and lots of tea came with it. Not a pretty sight. lol. There have been times I could feel the food going thru the band and it was uncomfortable, and I would get scared. The key is YOU DON'T WANT TO PANIC, get up and walk, stretch etc, this will help. Its not a type of stuck where you can't breath, but more of a painful chest feeling. I've only been banded 5 months - and not having problems getting things stuck. I have slimed (gross) a few times, but thats it.
  14. You LOOK so great. I want to look EXACTLY like you. Can I just follow you around and do everything you do? Man, you look good! I am workout out so hard and sometimes I don't feel like my body is changing, but my husband swears it is. But I want my muscles to start showing thru the FAT. lol
  15. I exercise 6 days a week - I am following the Body For Life plan and doing the Body for life 12 week challenge (Body-for-LIFE). The program calls for 3 days weight lifting, 3 days cardio. I added a couple more cardio session to mine.
  16. Deanna - great info - thanks for sharring. I've been doing Body For Life and their program and they say the say thing, You want to work your muscles to complete exhausten By the time I'm finishing up a body part with weight - I can barely get the 12th one up! Also, I've not lost 1 single pound the past 2 weeks (I'm on my 10th week of the BFL challenge) - HOWEVER, I have dropped another dress size. So sometimes you might not lose on the scale while strength training, but you are losing inches.
  17. Whatever your doing - IT IS WORKING. I saw your updated before/after pics on the before/after thread - YOU LOOK AMAZING. Your face is much slimmer, your entire body is, but you just look so different, much happier too!
  18. I'm glad you found us too Keep checking in with us - sometimes when we're off track, checking in can help us get back on track. Oh by the way girls, I got my book in The Success Habits of Weight-Loss Surgery Patients (Paperback) by [ame=http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/102-7400493-4689715?%5Fencoding=UTF8&search-type=ss&index=books&field-author=Colleen%20M.%20Cook]Colleen M. Cook[/ame] I LOVE IT. I haven't had time to ready it all, just the first chapter. It gives great pointers and tips and what the successful patients do. Rules to live by etc. I think its by far the best book I've boughted regarding WLS, and this is my 4th book.
  19. January Bandsters - check out this lady! I'm so impressed she made it to goal in LESS than a year and with no Fill http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f15/banded-november-2005-a-36294/#post502427
  20. My mouth is wide open right now, as I was reading your post, my jaw dropped when I read you made it to goal by July 2006 - less than a year! Congratulations - AND YOU HAVE NO FILL? OMG, your doing so great, your truly an inspiration for all of us Bandsters. Share your secret - what did you eat, did you exercise? how much did you eat? Come one, tell us more pleeeeeeze.
  21. I just did - so we'll see if he replies - hopefully all is okay with him.
  22. There you go, making ME jealous again. I want my fill! Yes your doc sounds wonderful! My doc is changing everything around, they are moving to another building in another city - and just really screwed up right on the fill situation! Making me mad! Last night, I ATE way too much - I ate pasta too, something I try and avoid. TOM is coming, I can tell. He comes quite regular now, actually even a little more often than I want him. lol. I used to have my menstrual cycle every 45 to 50 days, and then sometimes shorter and sometimes longer, it was a never know situation. Now its every 28 days or 25 days. And I've noticed I cramp a little worse. I ended up eating a dish I made last nigh (which was heavenly) Linguine with clam sauce & shrip. Ceasar salad, and then to top it off, my daughter just got back from Branson and what did she bring me? FUDGE, the good chocolate, rich homemade kind. Well, being the wonderful loving mother that I am, I had to eat some. And then eat some more, and more, and more. Grrrrr, I woke up feeling sick this morning. I think I went into a carb overload last night. So, double the exercise for me today. I've already walked 1.5 miles and will do another 1.5 miles at 3:00 today, and then tonight I will do my weight training, followed with 30 to 45 min on the treadmill. Regarding the hiccups, I get them too. My dr. said it was one of 2 things, its either, I'm eating to fast, or its a sign I'm full. Most of the time I get them when I've eaten plenty, so for me its a sign I'm full. Thats when I push the plate away (accept last night - I just wated and ate more) grrrrrr.
  23. WOO HOO Congrats on the inches lost! I'm a firm believer that inches are way better than lbs. We're so trained to watch the scales all of our life, but inches count more! I was reading this article of all these women who has done BFL challenge. It was just saying that the major changes come in the weeks 8 thru 12. But the thing that really caught my attention is this one lady went from a size 12 to a size 6 and only lost 3 lbs! She said she no longer cared what the scales say, she is wearing a size 6! I thought that was true, I don't care how much I weigh if I'm wearing a size 6! I haven't been in a size 6 since I was 6 - lol. Although I am in a size 12 now and I tried on a pair of shorts in a size 10 and I got them on and buttoned, they were tight, but I got them on! So, it won't be long until I'm out of the 12's!
  24. Man - I'm so jealous of you! !) You went to PF Changs - that is my FAVORITE restraunt in the whole world! I always get the lettuce wrap and have them hold the rice noodles, and then I get Changs Spicey Chicken. The second reason I'm jealous is you have a personal friend that has been banded, that is so great, you can look to her for your inspiration, have lunch with her etc. I'm glad you guys had a wonderful time! I asked this one lady what was the secret of her success on Bandsters@yahoo.com, she had lost 200 lbs in 2 years and was at goal, she said the #1 key is to stay on top of your fills. If you lose restriction, get it back by getting a fill, don't he haw around about it and waste time. Needing a fill does not mean your a failure - don't keep thinking "I'll do it on my own" or maybe I don't need a fill, if your eating more than 1/2 cup or 3/4 cup, go get a fill. She's not the first person that has told me this. So I need to stay on top of my fills! That is great about the 90 year old woman, walking is so good for us all. Its so good for the heart. I started off my exercise campaign by walking, and still try and get 10 miles in a week on the treadmill. Lately, I've only been doing 6 miles, so time to pump up the walking again! Thanks for the reminder!
