  1. hello all! today is day two of my 2 week pre-op diet...and i really really want to bake something...and i'm already bored with my two flavors of Protein shakes (vanilla and strawberry) i am using Bariatric Advantage from the doctor... anyway...i wanted to share my shake recipe with all of you on the pre op...i didnt even think about what i was drinking... RECIPE: I found caffeine free chai tea bags at the grocery (0 calories, 0 sugar) i brewed a very strong cup of chai tea and cooled it with eight ice cubes. I then put 2 scoop of my vanilla Protein Shake powder and two scoops of the unflavored protein. (makes a double batch, because of all the ice cubes...so i doubled up on the protein...) I then blended it all together in a blender with about a tsp of cinnamon. This made two 8 oz servings of the protein shake...and so i put the other cup in the freezer for later. I served with a dash of cinnamon on top... i tell you, tastes just like its from starbucks! (love chai tea lattes!) i will share some more of my shake recipes...this is actually fun! all day at work i was trying to figure out what kind of shake i was going to make when i got home! If anyone else has some yummy recipes lets share!
  2. So i started my pre-op diet today...which consists of 6 protein shakes, sugar free jello, sugar free popscicles, and broth. Also 100 oz of water or so a day! i was super nervous about today...thinking today would be the worse day ever with being hungry.. well had to go to the dentist this morning to get what i thought would be a root canal...and ended up having to get the whole tooth extracted!!! :bored:...i am in SO much pain! so eating is not even anything i want to do... so i guess it all worked out in the end! not really hungry and probably wont get all six shakes in! and i've lost two lbs...just today...haha hope all my other may bandsters are doing well :glare:

  12. I see the dr tomorrow after doing all my pre-lim appointments and i should get a surgery date tomorrow too...and i'm starting to get a little scared/nervous. I have tried and failed countless diets...what if i fail at this? i have an amazing support system around me and am going to continue therapy for my addiction to food...but all this is still not calming that little voice inside telling me i cant do it....and more than the fear of failing its the embarassment of failing... I'm probably having one of those days...and i am sure i will be fine after meeting with my doctor tomorrow, but today...i had to share this with my LAP-BAND® friends

  14. hi! i had my psych eval yesterday. and it was kind of intense. he asked me a lot of questions about my childhood and my relationships with my family and my spouse. the whole interview was to figure out what your relationship with food is...(stress eater, boredom eater...food make you feel good?) also in detail about work and your lifestyle. it really wasnt too bad... good luck! and dont be nervous. he started out telling me this was not a ''pass /fail'' interview...more of a guage to help with the journey trish
