I hope all goes well with your insurance. I'm on the same boat. Waiting on Cigna to approve its only been 11 days so I know I should be more patient. I hope you get approval really fast . Waiting is the hard part.

Well I just found out that Cigna can take 20 - 30 days to approve WLS. So since I've waited this long to have wls I guess another month won't hurt. Good luck to everyone.

Today everything was submitted to Cigna at 12:17 pm. All I can do now is wait and pray. Wish me luck.

I too have Cigna. Tomorrow is my last physicians supervised diet weigh in. I didn't loose much of anything did you? I thought that was why I needed WLS anyways. I hope everything with you goes ok. I'm hoping to submit all of my paperwork tomorrow afternoon. I wish you luck !!! I would make sure you check and double check everything before the submitting process begins. I wasn't told to submit a food log or excercise log. As long as your doc included your diet and excerise routine for the last 6 months. If u have anymore ?s call Cigna they will tell u what u need.

I was there last week for the 1st time. I really enjoyed it. I learned a lot about my triggers.

No not yet. I'm doing the 6 month diet for insurance. But i'll be done with that on June 14. So I am really getting impatient. I really like Dr. Heider as well. And it doesn't hurt that he is really easy on the eyes.

BTW we have the same surgeon.

PCP or Weight Watchers should be ok. Just make sure you have monthly documentation from them on your weight, diet & excercise.

Funny how things work out. I am so glad you have a date. I think this forum will be a great help. I originally wanted the sleeve but at the time Cigna didn't cover it. Now they do and boy am I glad. Good luck and keep us posted.

Well here I go telling my story after posting on this site a couple of time already. Yeah I know I can do things backwards. Well my story goes like this....... I'm a 27 year old wife and mother of three. I have High Blood Pressure, Minieres;s Disease and a BMI of 42.3. I have thought about having WLS for a least 3 years now. But I was one of those people who thought oh I'm young I can just diet and excercise and everything will be ok. NOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to realize that it is now or never. My husband is totally behind me 100%. His only concern is me loosing my butt and boobs what a man !! I went to a seminar for WLS surgery in Jan 2010 I had a series of things to do following that like physical therapy, Mental therapy, doctor's ok and 6 month diet attempt. I am in the 5th month of that diet attempt. So I'm at the point now where everyday I wonder if I will get approved or denied. I'm just trying to think positive. That's pretty much it

If you don't mind me asking. What was the error in the process? What insurance company is this? I am in the 5th month of my 6 month diet attempt. So this post really caught my eye and gave me something to think about. I am really worried that something may go wrong in my process as well.

Is having a BMI over 40.0 enougt to qualify for bariatric surgery. I am getting the impression form people on other sites and YT video's that maybe that's not enough. I thought it was? Was anyone here denied with a BMI over 40 ?

Wow thanks for the info. I have Cigna and they did not say that I should loose x amount of lbs during the 6 months. I just thought that it may be an issue. My surgeon didn't say anything about me loosing a few pounds. I'm sure it will happen during the pre op diet anyway.

I'm glad that cigna now covers vsg. Anyone know if cigna is pretty good about approving people in a timely manner?

Oh yes!!! I've gone to my pcp every month like clock work.

In the 5 th month of diet attempt. No weight loss. Will this hurt me with insurance? My Bmi is 42.3 & I have hbp at 27. I just scared that I may be denied for some crazy reason.
