  3. oh... i thought we were just being mean?
  4. i think i would have keeled over ...
  5. you should be ok with your DD there to help you.
  6. i did have lipo there too ... fortunately didnt get the itchies there like i had in my back... that would have been annoying!
  7. i am staying on plan today cause i lost 8 pounds last week and want to lose another 4-5 this week
  8. didnt do quite 5K yesterday... did 2.10 miles in 39:28 not too shabby for my first real day back to exercise (i was walking on t'mill, but only 1.5ish MPH, yesterday i went up to 3.5 and felt great!) i have a 5K (Race for the Cure) the end of this month then my 15K 4May... i best get my rear in gear. today's plan is 3 miles. tomorrow 4, rest Friday and 6 miles Saturday.
  9. im complaining cause im at work too ... LOL Kat..
  10. i think some of the weigh ins might have been over exaggerated, but it truly looks like Ali has lost a lot this week... i kept looking at her collar/shoulder bones ... wow... i dont see her losing much more, but isnt it based on how much overall they lost? jillian told her last night she's lost the biggest percent ... im going to vote to keep Mark in. i wanna see a girl take it this year and i really hope its Ali.
  11. not to beat a dead horse, but here is the original question ... basically - has anyone not followed their doctor's orders and ate before they should have... i've seen MANY threads here like this one (at least a few a month) and like it's been said, the original poster is looking for validation that it is indeed OK to cheat. and i believe since it comes from a nurse that 'you'll be just fine' gives it extra credibility that she will indeed be fine and eat ... and that is not necessarily the case. unfortunately, i've come to the realization that people are going to do what they want to do. if they truly want to eat on a liquid diet, they will eat... all we can do is tell them its not a good idea and why (some/most surgeons dont explain the why)...
  12. what do you want done?
  13. nope......
  14. why the huge jump in price?
  15. p3, i liked the grape. really cold and shaken well
  16. **sigh**, Steph to be honest i wasnt in that much pain. sure it hurt (i think it was me that said something about being cut in half), but not as much as you'd think being cut in half would hurt ... i had my op on Friday and my last dose of pain meds (liquid lorotab) was Sunday night and that was only to knock me out to sleep. you're only having the tummy area, right? not the arms or girls? im quite thankful that i didnt have other areas done or i would have been dead in the Water i think ... i cannot imagine trying to get up out of bed (a total chore in itself) without using my arms. one tip i can suggest - do some major squats / lunges now.. my thigh muscles pulled me through getting up off the bathroom and out of bed.. it did hurt when DH had to give me the blood thinner shots in my back ... trying to think of what else really hurt... nothing excrutiating... the skin pulled was quite uncomfortable, but you just grin and bear it... i have nerve twinges every once in awhile... the itching was really bad ... really bad but that was from my lipo incisions... what helped a great deal was putting Aveeno anti-itch cream (not lotion) on them. the itching didnt start until several days post op. you'll do great! and with you being smaller than i am, your results are going to be fantabulous!!! :frown:
  17. i love Atkins Caramel Latte shakes - throw it in the freezer for 15 - 20 mins and YUMM... tastes like a Starbucks frapp
  18. best of luck to you! :frown:
  19. welcome back. i agree, the mental hurdle is the worst one. good luck
  20. best of luck to you. i didnt necessarily have pain, just discomfort. you should have liquid pain killers when you are discharged.
  21. hi, welcome to LBT. congrats on your weight loss so far.
  22. cindy, despite the swelling, things are great. i posted pics on my blog last night .
  23. G - at 228 you're not fat in my book... does that count?
  24. sounds about right. i wasnt even hungry the first week or so. if you've been banded a week, you are probably still on liquids anyway. concentrate on getting Protein in. Isopure makes a good (kool-aid like) drink that has 40 grams in the jar. GNC carries it, im sure there are many other places to get it. good luck, keep us posted.
  25. Dee, try not to stress over not losing weight. until you are properly restricted, you more than likely will not lose and many people actually gain a few pounds (mushies tend to be higher in carbs, etc...) maybe stay off the scales until your first fill ?? i know thats easier said than done (coming from a former scale-addict!), but it helps. focus on eating as best as you can, moving as much as you can and the weight loss will come. best of luck
