  1. Deanna - LMAO!!!!
  2. thanks Tonya. i low carbed it for 2 weeks and lost 20 pounds... but i was eating VERY VERY VERY low carb (usually no more than 10-15 per day). i have taken time off from low carb (and actually have eaten horribly these past 2 days) so i am sure some has come back on, but i'm OK with that. i am back to low carb either tomorrow or Saturday. i just dont want to exercise right now. i am just not in that mindset. even though i KNOW i feel better when i do so. **sigh** you, however, are such an inspiration to me. i cant believe you are doing the BFL ... i dont even think i'd make it 2 weeks!!
  3. i post my daily food on my blog (most days)...
  4. hi Harlito, what are you eating? you can work out all day long and eat horribly and that would make you gain ... (of course i am NOT talking from personal experience ... ) good luck!
  5. Laura, congrats on twoterville!! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
  6. Suz, you are in what is referred to as "bandster hell". you do have restriction (natural stomach anatomy does not have a circular band around it). my advice is to still follow the bandster rules. Protein, veggies, then if still hungry, carbs. it could take up to a few fills to hit your 'sweet spot' good luck!
  7. gibson, great idea, but there is NO way i would let anyone see me practically naked the way my body is ... they would lose ratings!!!
  8. do you mean minutes?? my surgeon suggested 30 mins of activity a day. there are many threads (and opinions) on exercising. i strongly suggest it. here is a recent thread about exercising. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f81/help-i-need-convinced-i-should-exercise-36971/
  9. i have to add my .02 too ... my starting weight was 402.5... exercising was the FURTHEST from my mind. i got banded and starting working out. my first day on the treadmill i lasted about 7 minutes. by the end of November, I could go 35 on the treadmill. did i like it? NOPE! but i saw major results. since then, i have realized that i really like to exercise. it is ME time. i now go 6 times a week for at least 30 minutes. if i do not work out, i do see a stall. my time on the elliptical burns a ton of calories. i have lost almost 117 pounds in under 9 months.... just do it!!
  10. maziemommy, thank you so much!! i am already starting to talk to my DH about plastics just to prepare him. i am thinking at the minimum a lower body lift (tummy, legs, hips, etc) and maybe a breast lift as well (no implants though). if i can get a good deal and enough time off, i'd like my bat wings to become arms once again. my ideal (dream) situation. i find a PS that would agree to just cut my stomach off >>> LMAO ... if it wasnt for my stomach, i'd feel 'normal'. you know what i mean? i mean my legs and arms are bigger than what i want them to be, but as i am walking around, it's my stomach that eyes go to. even just in passing, their eyes do meet mine to say hi then down they go to my tummy. i just want to get rid of this stupid stomach NOW!!! sorry for the mini rant. yes, i think the exercising has helped considerably, but when i hit 200 pounds (that would be 20 lbs to my initial "goal weight"), i will have PS. i'll more than likely go to Mexico for it. as far as hygiene, the only problem area i ever had was underneath my stomach and since i still have such a stomach, i still take the 'towel' precaution on really hot or active days. vacation was fun. my DD got to meet all of her "friends" (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, etc...) congrats on 40 pounds! you can do this!!
  11. Tammy, just the thought of losing 200 pounds baffles me. you are such an incredible inspiration to me (and others, i am sure). you are doing a 'fantabulous' job!! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
  12. Josette, Try low carbing it for a week, bet you'll hit your goal!! low carbing it really works for me. i am down almost 20 pounds in 2 weeks.... of course i TOTALLY blew it tonight (i wanted Italian and ate Italian) and tomorrow is the Police concert, so low carb will be hard then too. So i will go back to low carb on Thursday. i refuse to go on a 'diet' so i can't "go off"... 13. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooo... that is SO not safe. i work for a major airline and hear about rough turbulence quite often ... you could get thrown out of your seat and that could result in serious injury... not a good idea. would you rather suck it up and just ask for an extension (or buy one, they are about 70 bucks) or end up in a hospital??
  14. i used to be a diet (cherry) coke-aholic. 3-4 20oz bottles a day.. now i dont drink it anymore because it just tastes different. i'm just not interested in it anymore. every once in awhile i drink about half a glass, then i'm good for a couple months. best of luck to you and your husband.
  15. j.s. so sorry to hear you are injured, take it easy and maybe put a call into your trainer to let her know.
  16. i love spicy foods and i think i eat more spicy foods than i did pre-band!
  17. thanks for tip #2. i didnt know that!
  18. Hi Martie, I think everyone has a bit of a last supper. Try to make it less than 3 meals a day. Maybe make it 2 dinners the week before. I was banded by Dr. Marsden as well. Good luck - you can do it! Josie - every surgeon is different. not all of them require 5% WL.
  19. i agree with chickie - this is the best thing i have done for myself - EVER. i was banded in October 2006 and have lost almost 117 pounds. granted it hasnt always been easy (i work out quite a bit), but it is worth it. i still have about 105 to go, but i'll make it with a lot of help from my band.
  20. hi elle, welcome to LBT. i was banded in October 2006 and have lost (so far) 51% of my excess weight. what do i credit to this?? i work out. quite a bit - normally 6 days a week for at least 1/2 hour. and i am currently low carbing it.. there will be people who say you do not need to work out to lose the weight. that is true for some, but i want to get the weight off NOW and the exercise has played a huge part in that. best of luck to you!
  21. Tonya, i cant find it on amazon. do you know who it's by? thanks!
  22. Tonya, I am so proud of you for sticking with it! 33 pounds!!??!! that is wonderful. Christine
  23. i was on vacation so i did not take a monthly photo, but i found one from our last vacation a year ago (almost to the day). i was banded October 2006. 2006 - Joshua Tree National Park - June (over 400 lbs) 2007 - Disney World - June (about 301ish)
