Exercise for the Super Sized?
Jacqui, i know i've said this before but it is still so true - YOU are an incredible inspiration to me. the running ... oh i would love to be able to run. i am hoping another 50 or 60 pounds i can start the Couch to 5K program. top speed for me now (on the elliptical) is about 5 miles an hour (12 minute mile) which isnt bad considering i started at 30 minute mile. thanks everyone for your kind words, i really appreciate them!

Exercise for the Super Sized?
Deanna and Faith, thank you so much for your kind words... i am definitely in a 'low spot' right now and really need the encouragement!! as far as exercising being a daily 'thing'. i couldnt agree more. today i woke up with a mega headache (just read it is more than likely the yummy Fruit Punch crystal light) and honestly, at 445 am, i just wanted to stay in bed. but the more i stayed in bed, the more i thought about it. my headache is going to be here no matter where i go or what i do or do not do. so 5 minutes later, i was getting dressed for the gym and had a pretty good work out. you can do it!! WHATEVER IT TAKES, right ladies???!!!

anyone else like to Wiiiiiiiiii ????
no no no ... not that wee ... the Nintendo Wii. DH and I finally found one a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love it!! the one we bought comes with the Sport Pack and has Tennis and Boxing (bowling, golf, etc too.) according to my body bugg, i burn anywhere from 9 - 15 cals a minute while doing the boxing. (to compare - i do about 7-9 cals / minute on the elliptical / bike) it is an amazing workout and i recommend it highly.

Exercise for the Super Sized?
when i first started working out, i was about 380ish. i went to the gym, got on the treadmill for 8 minutes, got off and went home. next time, i went for 10 minutes, went home, i increased my time for 2 minutes each time i went. i can now go for an hour on the elliptical (dont start on the elliptical) and can "run" about 5 miles an hour. but this has taken time. i have been banded 9 months (today is my bandiversary actually) and it has taken me this long to build my stamina to where i can exercise for 90 minutes at a time. good luck!

A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?
lizrbit, i can relate ... i am going through a "eat anything that is not good for me" phase. we went to Ikea yesterday. 4 chocolate bars .. and they are BIG bars. i ate 1 last night. went to Target Friday - carrot cake ... i LOVE carrot cake. so i bought it. i am scared to death to step on the scale. i know i've gained at least 5 pounds. so today i worked out for 90+ minutes cardio and did 3x15 crunches and 2x15 side crunches (one set each side)... but for lunch? happy meal from McD.... what is wrong with me???? i know it is TOM (soon) but still ... i saw a shirt at the gym today the back said "Whatever it takes" .. i need to figure that out and just do it. the pitiful thing is - i KNOW what it takes. why can i not do it?

Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
i am approaching my 9 month anniversary and have lost about 115 pounds (i havent stepped on the scale in about 5 days). my weight before surgery was 402.5 and i can now say i live in twoterville ... my "before" shirt was a 6XL, my current shirt - 1XL ... i can fit in 18/20 tops (from a 44ish) and bottoms are tricky - usually 20-22 fit (down from 44-46). this has been SO worth it!!!
