2 months out -- 2 weeks after 2nd fill and all of a sudden restriction
I too had my 2nd fill seek up on me. I'm ten weeks post-op and down 30 lbs. I'm really not hungry and always busy - so I have to remind myself to eat (stomach noises or a headache usually does that for me). I think I'm eating a norml amount of food but the scale did not move at all this week. In fact, I'm up 2.5 lbs:scared2:. I don't understand what happend and to be truthful I'm actually have Water coming to my eyes as I type that---so very very dissappointed. My meals are pretty much the same...breakfast = greek yogurt or akins bar; lunch = sandwich (with low carb bread, meat, 1.5 t of mayo, lettuce); dinner = meat (chicken, fish, shrimp, lean pork), salad (with chesse and dressing); snack = usually 1=2oz. of nuts. My family - who is extrememly proud and supportive - actually said that I might not be eating enough to lose. Is that possible? You would think with this much weight on me(i'm currently 222) that I would be dropping a good bit every week. I'm so so very upset. Sorry for the vent; I was orginally replying to let you know that you weren't alone with the fill feeling. Wow- guess I need to let that out...thanks Kristina

I got my ticket out of Bandster Hell (got my 1st fill on Monday). After gaining 1.5 when I got on the scale before the fill, I've loss 4.6 since Monday afternoon:thumbup:. ATTENTION to those who are less than 3 months post-op and discouraged-READ HERE!!!
OK...here's my 2 cents. Not many know about bandster hell and I think this post should be in pre-op. This is a good post, this is a place were we can all voice our opinions. The most important message I heard through out the whole process is the band is a tool! I'm on a low carb, high protein diet pre-op and post-op. It's the diet that my doctor wants me on to use my tool. If you expect to just drop the weight without doing your part, you're going to be dissappointed. Again I had a tool put in my body. My body needs to heal. Once it heals, the tool will start working better. Most importantly, I have to do the work and the tool is going to help me (not do the work for me). I'm losing b/c I've change my eating habits, not b/c I have a band. I wish all of the bandsters well ...everyone is different and we will therefore lose weight differently.

So how do you know when you need a fill? It sounds like a 1st fill is about a month post-op. Has anyone been filled yet??

Hang in there. I agree- its very weird not to want food or be hungry. I'm in love with my band (right now anyway).- April Bandster Bunnies
24 hrs. post-op and I'm feeling fine. No pain meds; only have discomfort and thirsty. I'm siping water and will try protein shake tom. Thanks for everything guys.- April Bandster Bunnies
ok..will check in for surgery @ 10am. I'm very ready, not nervous (as of yet)... but here's the thing. I'm not hungry b/c my butt is so sore from all of the pottying from the Clear liquids.. Wasn't prepared for that.- April Bandster Bunnies
welcome and good luck. I'll post as soon as I can after the surgery tom. I can't wait:thumbup:- Finally saying hi
Thanks. Will update when I can.- April Bandster Bunnies
I'm so glad to hear everyone is doing well. You guys are certainly leading us April Bunnies in the right direction:thumbup:. I'm three days into my pre-op diet (2-3 shakes and one lean meat with one veggie meal) and I'm going to my PCP to get my "ok" for surgery today. Starting to get anxious and excited. Thanks for the support and congrats again. Kristina- April Bandster Bunnies
Since I won't be on the computer on the 31st.....I just wanted to say good luck to the first of our April Bandsters. The month is finally here and I know we're all glad to start our new life. Kristina- Finally saying hi
Well I'm been lurking and learning for about a month and I've finalized my banding. I'm offically going to be a bandster on April 22nd and I'm very excited about it. I've started my high protein, low carb, low fat diet last Monday and am use to it now. I just wanted to say hi. - April Bandster Bunnies
