  4. Just wanted to share that I got on the scale and saw 1 as the first number....it felt great! Getting back to the 100s was a mini goal of mine. I also wanted to lose 50lbs in six months...which I did last week (and right at the 6 month mark). I'm usually asking for advice on the boards so I wanted to share good news. Thanks for all of the support/advice/guidance these 6 months!! Kristina
  5. Hi all. I'm glad to hear you both are well. I've been doing well and am happy about my progress. I'm getting nervous about the holidays coming up and I'm still trying to keep my expectations in check. As always, thanks for all of the support these last 6 months.
  6. too funny. Congrats on your hard work!!
  7. Since this is my first fall/winter with my band I really didn't think about eating one fo my favorite foods....acorn squash. I was wondering if anyone has been able to eat winter squash with their band?? I'm asking ahead of time to prevent being stuck :smile2:. Thanks in advance, Kristina

    winter squash ??

Thanks so much. I'm glad to hear that I can enjoy it without getting stuck:thumbup:. Kristina

    Wonderland at Last!

That is just wonderful!!!. Although I don't know you...I'm very very proud of you. I know how hard it is....the lapband is a tool and you have worked it VERY well. Congrats Again!!!
  10. Congrats on your lost and your will power for exercise. I'm hoping to regain my exercise will power. Did better this week, but still need to do more. I also am not hungry in the am and I'm getting tired of my Protein shakes. What hot drink to you have in the am?
  11. Was doing great with the weight loss, but have also had a slow go this last month. I had 3 fills and have restriction now. I'm not hungry to later in the day/night. I started the lap band journey at (surgery 4/22) 252.5 and now I'm 211.4......but the last 8 lbs have been over a little less than 2 months. So, basically I'm pissed. I finally get restriction and the weight loss has stopped. To be honest, the working out has also stopped. I think I need to eat small amounts more often and start moving again.

When can you get another fill? Restriction has really helped (even if the weight is flying off like I thought it would). It helps b/c I feel I'm actually getting what i paid for now. Hope you have a great week!!

  12. Talk anytime you need. I truly understand, this December will be 6 years since my brother died (he was 24 yo and died in a motorcycle accident). Your sister sounds like she was the type of person that brighten a room as soon as she walked in. I also know that weight loss is very hard after during grief. So good job for all of your weight loss!!! Hope you have a good week.

  13. I'm sorry to say I know the feeling. Please know that my prayer for you is the hole in your heart turn into a scar. The hurt never goes away but it doesn't consume you forever - the gaping hole in your heart will turn into a scar - a scar that you still feel everyday. From my heart (with a scar) to yours, I wish you solice from pain and a flood of beautiful memories. I'm here if you need to vent/talk/cry.

  14. Hi....we have a couple of mutual lapbandtalk friends... I notice on venegirl1's post you mentioned you're dealing with the lost of your little sister this month. I wanted to say how sorry I am. Losing a sibling is one of the hardest, not understood, most difficult spot to be in, and one of the worst to have to survive. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you this hard month.

  15. Thanks!! How ya hanging? (Hopefully the your skin is not at all). Losing slowly and steady is hard to do. I hope you're well.

  16. WOW---congrats to all!! I actually have two questions... 1) if everyone on the boards seem to say that expections need to be realistic and an average weight lossis 1-2 per week.....How are the April Bunnies losing WAYYYYY more than the normal? 2) how are the exercises going...I know that we're all doing them, but is anyone in a exercise routine? Its so hot all I can do is do laps, Water resistance, and tred water in the pool. (total time is 30-40 min) Again, congrats to my fellow bunnies, Kristina:thumbup:
  17. Well, I'm 3 months out and have said good bye to 34.7 pounds forever.. I've had 2 fills and really feel restricted in the morning, but by 4:00-ish I feel I can't eat alot more than I should. Going to weigh-in apt on Friday and will see about another fill. I know my weight loss has been good ...BBBBUUUUTTTT I am dissappointed in my weight loss. I've only loss about 3 lbs in the last month:confused:. In addition to my band, I'm also on high protein/low carb eating (won't say diet b/c its a lifestyle change)...so I expect to lose more than the 1-2 lb week guidline. In all fairness, I should also report I had sinus surgery on 7/2. Not sure if that has something to do with it or not (hoping so). Thanks for all of the support thru this whole process. Getting my band was one of the best things I did!! Kristina
  18. Just saying hi and thank you again. The scale is on the move again....looks like my body needed to recover from my sinus surgery (on 7/2). I'm proud to say I never said "forget this" during the rough spot....well to be honest...I would never say that I would use much better curse words:lol:. Anyway, I'm still trying to do better with my Water...always get 6 glasses in...those last 2 are hard sometimes. Following all the great advice here...I started drinking more water at night to help with the hunger at night. I'm also going to get a "little" fill on the 2nd. I'm hoping this puts me in the super sweet spot and on full restriction. Thanks for all the support:wub:, Kristina
  19. update- the scale is moving again!!! Looks like the stall was from my sinus surgery (on 7/2/10) and body trying to recover from that. Its nice to know that my work isn't for nothing.

    Any Bandsters from Louisiana?

weight loss right after surgery is very alluring - you drop pretty quickly b/c you're not eating and you're sore. Then .....you heal....and get hungry....and are on your own...its lovely known as "bandster hell." But I still think its very worth it and you do drop weight, just not at the same rate as before until you get restriction (like she said ...aroung 3rd fill). Good luck!!

    tightness question

Thanks for your quick (and good) advice...will be following your advice....and will keep you updated!!
  23. So Im very tight in the morning, which I know alot of us have...but here's the question. How come I'm so tight in the morning and even sometimes into lunch, but I feel like I can eat a horse in the late evening? Seriously, today I had a Protein shake in the morning, 3oz of fish and non-starch veggie for lunch (perfectly satisified) for dinner had 3 oz of chicken and non starch veggie. I did get a little stuck, but after clearing and waiting a bit was able to finish (too fast - need to work on eating with friends and eating slowly). Now at this point I'm actually eating only to eat..I'm not hungry. Well then ...hello 9pm....I swear the only reason I'm not eating right now is will-power. I had 1oz of almonds and a mini bag of popcorn (14 carbs in whole bag)....no problems, no sticking and I would love some more. How can I be so tight then eat all the crap I just eat.:bolt: Any ideas???
