I am feeling good about my exercise. I am up to 45 minutes of walking which is about 2.6 miles. I did this Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. I also starting doing 4 reps of 20 on the barbell with 10 lbs. My arms really hurt after wards. I did 100 sit ups with my ab roller. Yesterday I was working in the yard for 2 hours. Today I am going to work and no exercise...my body is tired! This exercise is good for someone who never liked to walk. I use to do weights at 24 hour Fitness about 6 years ago, but have not done them since. My arms have paid the price! Also, I am loving Greek yogart which is 22 protein for 1 cup.:smile2: It is so good! I add Splenda to sweeten it and add blueberries, peaches and cinnamon. Yummmy! I saw where BetsyB tracks on FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal, so I am tracking there also. A great tool!!!!!!! I thought I was eating more protein than carbs, but not always the case. It tells you the fats, carbs, proteins percentages.
  2. Sandy, I know, doesn't it feel good to be in control and not turn to food! I have my stress now under control....also, with working out (walking, ellyptical, heavy yardwork) that really helps too! Good milestone! Keep it up! Terri

Thanks Sandradee for the encouragement! I have to say, what I love about the band is if you keep on course, the weight will not come back on like the yo-yo diet. It is so worth it!

Today was my 4th fill (.5 CC) and I lost another 5 lbs., a total of 40 lbs. I can still eat a large quantity of food at a sitting. I would prefer to loose a little faster, but I am happy with what I have done. I need to walk more than 1 mile (30 min). I read where you need to walk 2 miles to start burning fat vs glucose. I am going to kick it up a notch. When I do the ellyptical, 30 minutes kicks my butt at 4.4 and Level 2, so not sure if I can do anymore on that yet. I sure feel a bunch better! I can work in the yard for 5 hours - exhausted, but can do it again. I no longer SLOG around. Life is good! Can't wait to feel under 200 lbs. Wanted to add some more experiences with this fill. - Mixed nuts did not work for me!!!! I ended up with major stuck/pain/vomit. I used meat tenderizer and then eventually it cleared. Also tortilla chips. I had them in mexican restaurants - no prob last fill????
  5. So, made my trip to San Diego to see the dietician and my doc. Things I need to work on are - no drinking during meals and portion control. Hopefully, my 4.5 cc's will help me with the portion control. The last couple of weeks I have slowed down a bit loosing. This is due to my fav - Mexican food!!!! So, once I loose 5 lbs or so, I can go there...or eat 1/2, not the whole dang thing. With my current fill, not sure if I would be able to eat the whole thing now anyway. Hopefully not! After my fill, I had a great smoothie (no malt which sometimes I do because I am starving) and cannot find anything on the road to eat. I really feel great! Down 35 lbs. My pants are baggin on me, so need to throw those sizes out! Fitting into pants I bought 2 summers ago (brand new). Loving it! People at work at starting to notice....good feeling. I am able to walk 30 minutes - no problem, so need to start walking 45 minutes. Doing situps (great little tool from Walmart $20.00) and bench presses (with arms close into the bar handle) to work the flab on the arms! I am more active and feel lighter when I walk which is amazing. It will feel so good to get under 200 lbs! Soon.... Going to the beach for a week, so that will be great fun. Stocking up on chicken bowls for lunch, bars or protein drink for breakfast and then dinner protein and vegetables. Need to also buy some fruit. Will have to partake in some vino of course, but will try to control that. Will walk on the beach and get my 45 min in. Swimming, playing with my nieces, instead of sitting the whole time. Surfs up!
  6. Hi Goodgirl81, I hear ya....I have been doing really good and then the last couple of weeks, I have only lost 3 lbs....and it is because I have been visiting my favorite Mexican restaurant and eating way too much. So, I need to only go there maybe once a month (after loosing 5 lbs or more!). It is just not worth it to get banded, go through all the things you do with the band and then not loose!!! I have discovered a really great lunch - chicken teryaki bowl with extra vegees (no rice). It is so good....from a chinese fast food, but not a heavy sauce...very good.... Good luck! We will slip, but will not fall down!
  7. Claudean, You lost your weight so quick! Congratulations! What did you eat on an average day to loose so fast??

NicVio, Yeah never know, I could get another fill and not be able to eat steak. It is really heavy on the stomach. Hope you can eat pork or hamburger and get somewhat of a fix.

Enjoyed an evening with our neighbors last night. Tried steak and cut very small pieces and it went down fine. I ate hardly any of the steak.....very tasty. I had corn on the cob and baked potato (with real butter) yummmm! A little celebration...oh and some wine. Strawberries, whipped cream on a bisquit. The bisquit was chopped up in small pieces and it went down fine. For breakfast, I was able to eat poached eggs on lite muffins. I was afraid of bread, but toasted they went down fine. For dinner, we had barbecued chicken, broiled onions, peppers and tomatoes that my husband cooked. It was so good. I then splurged with Meyer's Rum, OJ and pineapple juice. Got to watch it tomorrow! Glad to see I can enjoy eating! My volumes were a little bit much, but time should take care of that.
  10. I always like to follow-up with the status after putting entries in that are somewhat alarming. I survived my first STUCK! The doc said I probably will never eat pizza or bread again. I think he is right! Anyway, just want to say, I feel great today. I was on liquids for 24 hours and tonight I had mashed potatoes and meatloaf! It tasted so good. I was so ready for real food. The meatloaf is real soft. I actually bought that big honking thing at COSTCO, so it should last days..... I did find that I could eat quite a bit....more than I should...so tomorrow, back at it! Even if my band let's me overeat, I gotta not do it! You can't wait to be fully filled before practicing control. So there! Got my AB ROLLER from Walmart ($20.00). I plan to use that, along with lifting the barbel weights with hands close together on the bar, so I can work my upper flabo arms. Back to walking again, now that my stomach is feeling better. Walked 1.6 miles. I walk so darn slow....takes me 30 minutes to walk 1.6 miles. Everyone is passing me up...I will get there. Still hauling a lot of weight around. It was also very warm today. So, back at it! Come on lbs...melt off!
  11. Indio Girl, When you eat a taco, is it soft or crispy??? Is your enchilada cheese? I only eat with cheese...wondering if I can tolerate it?

I only had .5 cc's taken out, so let's cross our fingers! Just remember, when you drink the water after the doc fills you, if it feels funny at all (like your throat is heavy etc). take some out! I would have been okay had I not eaten that dang pizza! It would not have been so bad. Worse case you go on liquids until you can see the doc. He happened to be away for a week, so I had a tough week!

Well, drove 60 miles to La Jolla to have the doc take some cc's out of my band. He took .5cc's out. The real problem is I ATE PIZZA! WHAT WAS I THINKING! The doc said no pizza, no bread. I forgot to ask if I can have toast. My husband lives on pizza and pasta. Drat! The price you pay for loosing weight with the band. I keep telling myself, there are a hundred other things to eat that are good. So, starving on the way home as I had not eaten (it is now 2:00 pm). I stop by home and have chicken noodle soup and spoil myself with a malt (since I have to be on liquid). Since I have not eaten in days, I had to have a malt. It was yummy ...but I drank way too much of it. I hope I feel ok again in the morning. The doc is very happy with my progress (down 33 lbs!) YEAH! NOTE TO SELF: NO PIZZA AND QUIT EATING WHEN YOU ARE FULL!
