  4. I had my first fill on Monday and it was surprisingly not bad. Although I do not think I have restriction. I get full, but able to still eat things I want, just not as much. I had 2ccs in after surgery and Doc added 2 more ccs. Will add exercise and see how this goes. Good Luck to all!
  5. Keep your head up and remember you are unique in this process. Lorraine
  6. I love the motivation of this challenge. I am in for 15 lbs. this will be the first time that I weighed under 200 lbs in 20+ years. I started exercising this week, so I am going to pump it up. I don't have a fill yet, was banded March 11th. Let's get this party started, I weighed today and at 209.
  7. You are okay, just stay focused. I have cheated but my portions are so small. I am on solids at this time, so I have to be carefull and I do not have a fill.
  8. I was banded March 11th. Doing well just added exercise to the process. No fill as of yet. All is well
  9. This was a really good post and I appreciate it. I needed to read this tonight. I am 7 days post-op and today I wanted to cheat. I was tired of shakes 2x per day and then broth and popsicle for dinner. So I went and purchased Won-to soup with no intentions of eating the noodle or meat. I did eat one won-ton and broth. I am so glad I read this. I won't do that again, I am sticking to the plan. I spoke with my Doctor's office and tomorrow I can have oatmeal and or grits. So I may or may not introduce mushies because I believe this is a head thing and not truly my stomach.
  10. I am siz days post op and I was not hungry for those six days. My stomac is making sounds but I attribute that to the gas. There was a post about soft indicators and one thing I notice is that when I am "full" my noise runs. Go figure!!:scared2: Lorraine
  11. Hello Bandits, I am six days post op and went back to work today and I was exhausted. I should stayed home but needed to go for an important meeting. I am still a little sore, but definitely feel better than I did on day one. It will get better, hang in there. Lorraine
  12. I had my surgery on March 11, 2010. I had one incident with nausea and after I got my prescription filled, I felt better. The walking helps alot. I am still dealing with the gas but I am walking more. I am no longer taking the pain meds. I also noticed that the chocolate Protein shake did not work for me. I hope you went to see your doctor. You don't want the band to slip with the throwing up. Hope all is well, Lorraine Lane
  13. Congrats to you. I had my band on March 11th. I have to make my follow up appointment. I have been moving along well, just trying to get rid of the gas *^%^%$$. I look forward to my visit to record any weight loss. Lorraine
  14. I had my surgery on March 11th. I have been on liquids only. Water, popsicles, chicken broth. I finally had a Protein shake and I have been drinking Protein water. Good luck. Lorraine
  15. Hello Everyone, and Belinda good luck on your journey. I too thought about the band several years ago and finally decided this year to do something about it. I will be banded on March 11th.. Question for everyone else, how do you get the weight ticker at the bottom of the screen? Take Care, Lorraine
  16. Hello All, I will have my surgery in eight days. I too am getting nervous, sometimes I wonder if I am making the right choice. I try not to think that I am a loser for doing this especially since I am self-pay and the fact that I need to do this to be able to lose weight. Then I remember that the mere fact that I am doing this means that I definitely have will power and strength. I also worry that my surgeon will ell me he couldn't do the surgery because of liver issues. I will keep pressing forward. Lorraine
  17. Hi, My Doc has me on two shakes per day, lean meat and veggie for dinner and a fruit, SF Jello etc for snake. This is day four and it is definitely hard. Doing a lot of traveling so it has had its challenges. I think I could do better with meat and veggie. For example, I had broccoli and a crab cake no filler in the crab cake 100% meat Maryland style. I will go for more leaner meat for the remainder of the time. I can't imagine not being able to have my surgery because I couldn't do this. Thanks for all the honesty, I too needed to stay focused on this process.
  18. Hello All, I am three days on the pre-op diet. This is such a challenge. I must make sure I have my supplies with me. I have done ok thus far. Lorraine
  19. I completely understand how you feel. I have my surgery on March 11, 2010. I have only told three or four people and none of them are my family members. I don't want to get the look or lack of support. Part of me is second guessing my decision because I wonder if this is something, I didn't give my all. On the other hand, I strongly believe that the band will help me to stay focused, so I am going for it. Lorraine

  23. Thank you so much....I needed to read this post. I am self pay and part of me has been feeling guilty about doing this. But I feel that this will be the boost that I need to make it through the day.
