Every WLS has it's own set of challenges. I would worry about going to the gastric bypass and eating sweets - you could get dumping syndrome. Good luck with your decision.

My experience has been if I get dehydrated, the band get tighter. I'd just make sure you're drinking plenty of water throughout the day. Good luck!

I suddenly started having acid reflux as well. The nurse thought my band may have slipped, but after talking to the doctor he thought it was gallstones. He was correct. They sent me for an ultrasound and sure enough... gallstones. He did prescribe Nexium for the acid reflux (which helped tremendously) and will probably have to take my gallbladder out in the next few months. Good luck to you.

I also think you responded very well and professionally. I think a "letter to the editor" of your local paper might also be in order. You don't have to name the gym, but you could open the eyes of the gym owners in your area who may not be educated. Good luck! Hope you win your contest!

Well, I got my results back today and I definately have gall stones. The doc said it would only get worse. I don't need immediate surgery, but I will need it sometime. I'm hoping to put it of 6-8 weeks, but I guess I'll just have to wait to see if it gets worse

I just went to my doc yesterday for a routine followup and have been having back and side pains along with acid reflux. He sent me over for an ultrasound and I should get the results back today. I was banded over 1.5 years ago. I am just hoping it's not severe enough to have to come out yet. He did give me a prescription for Nexium for the acid reflux. I was glad he didn't think it was band related. I was worried about having fluid taken out of the band. I didn't think to ask him about gall bladder surgery and if they need to take fluid out at that time. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I drink cranberry/vodka with no problem. I try to stay away from beer, but I have been able to have one occassionally.

I struggle with it at times as well. Sometimes I put on a size 12 jeans and they're really loose and I think maybe they were mis-marked in the store? I also feel like an "imposter" shopping in the petite section.

My gurgling finally went away. I'm not sure why tho.

Thanks for the tips. I thought the band could have been somewhat tight, but I really didn't want to get unfilled. I have been trying to watch not eating a few hours before bedtime. I think that is helping. I'm scheduled to see my doc next month. I think I'll just hold out until then.

I've been banded for well over a year now, and all of a sudden I started getting acid reflux. This happens mostly at night (I wake up suddenly and feel like I'm gonna puke). I've got good restriction with no problems, and haven't had any adjustments for at least 6 months. Has this happend to anyone else? If so, what did you do?

The insurance company takes your starting weight. I think the purpose of the 6 month diet is to show your committment to the process.

I have never been able to get into the chat rooms. The administrator told me to make sure I have the most updated version of Adobe Flash Player. I have done this, but I still can't get in. I see all the ads on the page, but no rooms. Has anyone else had this problem and been able to solve it? Thanks!

I am using Explorer (version 7) Windows XP Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX The "done" is at the bottome of the page - I believe it's part of the Explorer program. I get all of the ads and stuff on the right side of the page, just don't get the chat rooms.

I did have Adobe Flash Player but went ahead and downloaded it again and still have the same results. Any other suggestions?
