I'm here to help...
Cheri - thanks for info about NSAIDS and you have faced so much with arthritis. So sorry. Julie - so sorry for all your pain - hope relief will be with you soon. I have great news - down another 3 lbs. What a surprise. I changed my tag to reflect it. yippee Time to leave for PT.

Eva - I agree with Janet - your hard work in the yard should be melting away the lbs. You go girlfriend. Can't wait to see the pix. Linda & Eva in K.C. this summer - yippee. I'll be so excited to meet you both. Janet - my DD can hardly wait to see Sex in the City movie. She plans to have several girls meet to see it together. Lori - definitely go with DH. I'm sure you been to Phoenix lots - but a day at the pool with a good book - plus time on the plane with DH sounds wonderful. Way to go on the shopping. Second fill is coming up on Wednesday and I feel I need it. Ate about 5 oz. Salmon for dinner and stopped. Could have eaten all, but saved the rest for lunch tomorrow. Thanks for the Calcium hints - I forgot about the petites. However, I found the liquid adult tylenol @ CVS - marvelous. Thanks Janet.

Janet - what movie did you see??? I love movies and always enjoy a recommendation. Phyl - enjoy DD #2 and family. Sounds like great weather too. Drive safely - home soon. I'm off to Walgreens to search for adult, liquid tylenol. What calcium citrate does everyone take?

Lori - Thank you for the tylenol info. That really helps me. I need anti inflamatory and pain relief. Will feel better when I return to tylenol, as it had been managing the pain b/4 the band. Have a great time on your cruise. Thank you for your help. Joyce

Deb - congrats on the pretty shoes. Those days are over for me - mostly "grandma shoes". But most days, I'm just happy to be walking. Want strength to travel and again. Last trip was Peru in May 2008. Except for short trip taking 17 yr. old grandson & 22 yr. old granddaughter to San Diego last Aug. 2009. Most of it in wheel chair after knee surgery.

Lori - exciting about the cruise - have a great time. What ship will you be aboard? We loved the Radisson (now Regent) but tried lots of different lines and ships. Janet - I'll look for the liquid adult tylenol. Thanks to all for suggestions. I'm still in the learning phase with the band and need to establish new routines. Love to hear everyones memories of concerts. Good to hear.

Eva - would love to have you contact me when you come to K.C. Would be great to meet you. Laura - love the pix of Nelson & muscles. He is so darling. Arthritis is becoming a major issue for me. Even after PT, I think water will be my only option. And - relative to arthritis - what do each of you (who need meds) take. The allegren info says no NSAIDS - inlcuding motrin, ibprophen, aleave, etc. May cause ulcers. So, I've been avoiding taking anything except some liquid childrens products - not nearly strong enough. HELP. Pain is horrible and I'm limping again. I am official as of lunch today -- shake for breakfast - then gone until 2 pm. Starving and shoveled in turkey & string cheese. Didn't chew well enough and ate way too fast. Had that feeling - DON'T take another bite. Began burping and felt like throwing up. Felt the slime begin. Walked around holding a plastic bucket waiting for the volcano to erupt. Nothing happened - but I was very uncomfortable for about 15 minutes. Before the surgery, the therapist advised that these events would occur and to consider them "informational". She advised not to fear them, to welcome the opportunity to learn this new way of life. hmmmm.......... lol Enjoy your Saturdays, friends.

Post-Op and Freaking Out A Bit
Your feelings post op are normal. This is a total change of lifestyle and it takes time to embrace. My therapist advised me to "welcome" the band into my body. Mentally to embrace that I had a tool to help me regain health and self-confidence. Take ONE DAY AT A TIME. Follow your physicians instructions. Stay hydrated and drink your protein slowly. Try adding crystal light powder to the protein to make it more interesting. Different flavors with fresh fruit. Be excited that you have made a decision JUST FOR YOU. Congratulations. Look at some of the photos of all the other successful banders and be proud of your decision. Joyce from KC

Linda - have a blast @ Elton John concert. Bone Fish Grill has wonderful food - enjoy and Happy B'day. LauraK - new avatar is very attractive. Apples - we all miss you - but know you are enjoying those books and lounging on the porch at the lake. Hubby volunteers as photographer for Kansas Special Olympics. I'm going tonight to watch some of the athletes play tennis. Chilly here in KC again. About 50 -- but flowers are still blooming and I'm thankful for all my friends here. Joyce

Julie - so happy to hear you had a wonderful night of rest/sleep. OUr bodies respond to rest and need it so. Hope you continue to be able to sleep. Karen - have a great time at the lake. Lori - The ability to express and recognize our feelings is so important. We have all spent too many years stuffing those feelings and eating over our emotions - which solves - nothing and only punishes us. Laura - I won't tell Janet that you missed exercise - and I understand, no shoes, pool too cold ....... it will be our little secret. I'm still in physical therapy and can't really exercise yet. Soon, I hope. Beautiful here today - 79 degrees - green and all the trees are becoming green. Joyce

Karen - love the pix of your property. How I would love it sit on that porch and rock away and pick your brain about the band and share girl time. Welcome hotmoma09. You have come to the right place for guidance. Lots of informed, successful ladies here. Julie - so happy to hear the injection was not difficult to bear. Here is praying that relief is on the way. Laura - way to go girl - 3/3 at the gym - even when you hated to go. I'm off to pt. CBL Joyce

Welcome to Cindy. Hugs to Julie - even tho she is not on reading now - thanks to Karen for her update. Linda - come on down to KC & we'll go for a ride. Karen - I'm really waiting for the RV road trip. All banded girls - would be a blast. Seriously - thought I read some where that there are conventions for banders. Janet - nice to have you back. You are one busy lady. Time for bed.

Karen & Lori - I'm petrified of dentists too. However - the childhood dentist for me was my step-father. He was brutal and mean with no compassion. I'm still scarred from his treatments. My current dentist gives me nitrous oxide when there is drilling. Lori, you might ask for it. However, b/c of that history, I take excellent care of my teeth to avoid any dental work. And - I reward myself with a glass of wine after the appt. I also take amoxicillin (sp?) 4 tablets due to knee surgery. Really upset my tummy this time and had appt day after fill. Won't do that again.

Hey February 2010 Bandsters!
I'm in same boat with all of you. Lost 18 lbs. then stalled. However, previous to lapband, I would have gained it back and that has NOT happened. So I'm thankful. My eating choices are very good, but I'm waiting to feel restriction relative to quantity. I'm confident we will all be successful, if we are patient and follow the program. Joyce in KC

Any Kansas City bandsters???????
Kendra - thanks for the overview regarding Bandwagon support meeting. Weather is too gorgeous, you are right. So proud that you are doing so well. You rock, GF. I remember how concerned you were before surgery. So happy for you. Joyce

Happy Birthday, Eva - would you share some of that cake that Apples made for you - wonder if cyber eating is fattening. lolol Apples - lovely cake and charming idea. Love your Tanker - lab/human and bike for hubby is wonderful. What a find - both bike & husband. Easy to see from that farm equipment that you have a very big farm. Busy weekend here - yard work and so happy to have my convertible out - top down and drove all over yesterday. GD & co-workers held a fund raiser for cancer research. They are hair stylists and used their skills to raise $$$. So proud of them. Well - need to get ready for physical therapy. Enjoy the day. Joyce

2plus4 - what does your tag stand for? I agree with Julie, Scotland is in romance novels and has such charm. Does it snow there? Please join in and tell us about yourself and life in your country. Great - welcome back. Apples - you do more in one day than I accomplish in a month. Were you that energetic before the wl? I had pt this morning and enjoyed the nice K.C. weather. Will store the GMC this weekend and bring out the convertible. Can't wait. No more snow in KC til approx. Nov. After small dinner, spent an hour out in the yard doing some work. That should eat up a few calories. Loved all the newsy posts. Such busy, interesting ladies. I'll pass on the support group tomorrow. No need to hear all the complainers. Taking two DDs to see DATE NIGHT. I'll let you know how it is. Joyce

I wear Cabotine - not sure that is the correct spelling. A flight attendant was wearing it on a plane once, & that is when I began wearing it too.
