  1. Jessica - wow 14 lbs. is marvelous. Congrats, girl. Sorry your DH is having back problems/pain. My DH slept in a Lazyboy for 6 months due to back pain. Sending prayers for him. Sex and the City was marvelous. Eye candy and a chick flick. I highly recommend it for entertainment and relaxation.
  2. Pam - way to go - good weigh in # and a walk after mexican dinner. You inspire me.
  3. Eva - would love to meet you when you drive thru in November. I'll give you my phone number to call when time is nearer thru PM.
  4. Wow - Cheri -- you look marvelous. Congratulations. You look 20 years younger and so very happy. So nice when your outside matches you inside. Only tattoo I'm interested in - would be placed on my left breast. DNR simple and sweet and good for a laugh. I've heard it would NOT be legal or binding and don't think I want it notarized anyway.
  5. Jessica - forgot to say congrats on the tattoo. Butterfly is perfect for you. Enjoy.
  6. Peaches - you are to be congratulated. The band is only a tool and you obviously are using it perfectly. Joyce
  7. Karen - sorry but I laughed out loud about the mouse - then was upset for you needing to scrub after dog knocked over the grill. Poor baby was only trying to help "get the mouse". Would be a great situation comedy. Jodi - congrats on getting off meds and great checkups. Only plans for weekend, see Sex and the City with DD & friend on Friday. I'll sign up after Janet for help organizing house. Since I'm been here 23 years, we are packed in and need to throw away lots and keep only what is needed. We have a basement full - but house is fairly stark - decorator calls it urban contemporary. I call is soft contemporary. I like lots of empty space, uncrowded and few chochkiees (sp?). Only works for ppl who are not sentimental. lol Ladies - enjoy your holiday weekend doing exactly what you like. Joyce
  8. Jodi - thank you for your suggestions. Have decided that I need a visual to stop the tattors. So.....I'll envision my ex-husband trying to fee them to me to stop me from losing weight. That should work...... Hope Lori is safely in SLC.
  9. Welcome makeing.a.change & Bandmom. Happy to see you see. Sorry to hear support is during work hours for you. Lots of info here on the forums. Making - let us know when you get a date and start your pre-diet. Jump in and enjoy our group. Joyce
  10. Arlene - congrats on another lb. You are doing so well. Lori - can't believe the hail. Cheri - what a perfect idea taking pictures and video and having buyers sign off. Great idea. Janet - ranch problems are a hassle. Wonderful to have a partner with the funds to allow options. Top down on convertible when I went in for pedicure today - deep inside building in spa. Front desk clerk came running asking whose convertible. The beautiful blue sky opened up and rain was pouring. Oh well... it will dry out. No harm, no foul. A much easier problem to face than you and Eva with the monster bosses....grrrr Joyce
  11. Kendra - Are you using www.mylapbandjourney.com to follow your success. It is referred to in the literature Malley's office provided. There may be a place to record measurements in there, as well as a graph to show you your weight loss - inspiring. Keep you, sista.
  12. Karen - that is going to be one gorgeous smile and one gorgeous woman. Congrats on going for what completes you. Make it a great day ladies.
  13. Hi Kendra - let us know how you are progressing. Have you taken measurements? I notice when scale slows, inches continue to shrink.
  14. Hi PJ - You deserve a medal to tackle weight loss while facing a divorce and all that goes with it. You are one strong lady. Congrats on 1/2 lb. Way to go.. Joyce from K.C.
  15. Linda - how I hate to give up my white starch (mashed potatoes) - but you have settled it. They have to go. All the ladies have explained it to me. Interesting that my doctor does not stress any foods - just does the surgery - and we have to figure it out. My friends here in KC say I do more research than anyone. So great to have all of you here for reference. High 80's every day this week and humid. Love hearing from those who are no longer bothered by the heat. My day will come.
  16. Jessica - wow, another tool. Eating without TV (for me) focus on food. Thanks. Regarding invitation - I learned from a dear friend about DEFINITE invitations. Want to go to the beach on Wednesday or Thursday about 11 and take a lunch and play frisbee??? Gives the other person one of two choices and a specific destination and events. Might be worth a try. I also love including the time. Janet - congrats on seeing 136. I forget that you also have victories that are weight related. Just think of you as accomplished and finished working so hard. I know better, but tend to forget that maintaining can be more difficult than losing. Lori - sorry about the tree and more importantly that friend failed to mention it allowing you the opportunity to handle w/o a fine. Time for lunch. Hard boiled eggs today.
  17. Karen - welcome back - thank you for your input, as well. It all helps me build my tool kit. Must admit, I had a slip last night. Went over my calories and got right back on plan today. Julie - have a nice time with your grandsons and family. Eva - welcome back. Will catch up on posts later.
  18. Melissa - I validate your stress and agree with Cheri & Janet - call in sick (a mental health day) and see your doctor too. Life can get in the way of weight loss. Sometimes just holding on is the best we can do. Sending hugs. Daily calories: 953 carbs: 52 protein: 119
  19. Tweety - I try to stay on liquids for 24 hrs. after an episode. The band is aggravated. Then proceed with caution - very small bites and chew thoroughly. We want this to work - use our tools carefully.
  20. Jessica - yippee - hurray - fantastic - wonderful - way to go. So happy for you. Joyce
  21. Tweety - PB is productive burp and slime occurs when the food refuses to go down and body secrets "slime" to help. When a bander vomits, the food is covered in this slime - I find it helps the food to move out. Forgot to congratulate the lady who is pregnant. Best wishes. Northern Mist - welcome to the club. It is a learning experience and part of the journey. My third fill did the job for me - I feel I'm at sweet spot too. I asked for conservative fills on #2 and #3. Honestly reviewing your food with your doctor will help guide him/her. Congrats on your progress.
  22. Laura, Arlene, Cheri, Janet - thanks for your input. So interesting what success tips have worked for each of you. I'll use all help available. Julie - you have a busy day. Take care of yourself. Relaxing today - a graduation party yesterday and some obedience training for my dog.
  23. Welcome to the club. I experienced a bad week with 4 episodes including vomiting. However, trying new foods was the cause - and food that was too dry. This is a trial and error journey. And for each of us it is different. I've lost 25 lbs. and feel marvelous. However with 35 more, I've decided to recommit to the band rules. I'm journaling food to be sure that protein, calories and carbs are in line. Great to know that vomiting won't kill us - just see as a learning tool.
  24. Wow and congratulations. And thank you so much for taking the time to share. Learning to change our lives with the band is very challenging. So we need to hear all the benefits. I'm down 25 lbs. now and feeling marvelous. Almost 4 months banded and the journey is becoming more familiar. Determined to go all the way to goal and NOT settle for less. Joyce
