I was over 300 lbs - felt like everything was starting to go wrong with my help. I did not have a weight problem as a child or though my tenn years. It was my late 20's & on. When I was 40 - I did not want to go into my 50's with weight problems. Over the years, i looked at a number of weight loss programs. But I wanted something that would not be too drastic, but still work.I did a lot of research on the band, and the the doctor. Being clost to Mexico, I could of saved money - but I really liked Dr. Simpson. He is great.  I have had it amost 4 years. It took me almost 2 years to lose the first 100 lbs. I still want to lose 30lbs. But, after going from a size 26/28 to a size 12/14 - I am very, very happy.I do not regret the surgey at all.
