  1. Well today I've had solid Proteins and I'm still starving:( I'm beginning to think this band is never going to work for me:( How could I have been SO tight for 3 days after my fill and now be loose again?
  2. I mix mine with water it's fine. Skim milk does taste better though.
  3. I swear I have a Love/Hate relationship with my band. In the past month I've gained weight instead of losing. On Tuesday my doc bumped up to 6 cc's and Tue, Wed, and Thur I was doing great. I felt fullness in my chest and got full on 1/4 to 1/2 cup of food. Well apparently that was just from swelling or something b/c today I've been starving all day long. I'm talking stomach growling and low blood sugar. I just ate 1 cup of Soup with a bunch of crackers and you know what? I just barely feel satisfied. Why is this? Will my restriction come back again before my next fill? This band is starting to feel like another Yo-Yo diet to me:(
  4. I had gas pain but that was it. I never even opened my Lortab. I just used kids liquid Advil.
  5. Okay so if I always have a certain amount of fullness in my chest then how do I know when I'm full and when to stop eating? For food I've been eating about a 1/4 cup and then stopping. Last night though I needed my Protein shake. 3/4 of the way through it I started feeling really full and I didn't know if I should finish it or not so I dumped it out. I made it with almond milk so even though it was a liquid it was slightly thick like a milkshake consistency. I just don't want to mess up.
  6. Most men seem to think the band is easy b/c they have seen 1 or 2 people lose massive amounts of weight with it. My dh keeps telling me this will work for you, it has to b/c look at the results our friends have had from it. He thinks this should be an easy deal and I should get to goal with no problem. I haven't lost any weight in the past month, in fact I gained a few pounds back:( My dh thinks that's crazy. He makes me crazy at times and I feel like he's judging me and I'm scared of failing b/c I know he won't approve.
  7. Finally at 6 cc's my restriction is back:) I'm so happy! I hope it stays around for longer than 2 weeks this time.
  8. I would think if you find someone that will take your insurance then they can't legally charge you a large upfront fee. They will only be able to charge what the insurance will allow. What are your out of network benefits? I know on my UHC they don't cover out of network bariatric fees at all. But they aren't all like that.
  9. I got another fill Tuesday and I'm now at 6 cc's. So far I've eaten some soft/mushy foods with no problems. Here's my question though when I drink or like this morning after I took my medicine I have a full feeling but it's in my chest and not in my stomach. Does that make sense? It goes down no problem but it's like I can feel it, what I mean is it's not getting stuck but it's like I can feel it. Do you know what I mean? It's hard to describe. LOL But is it just b/c my band is getting tight now?
  10. Call United Healthcare and tell them what's going on. Hopefully they can help you find a clinic. I'm in TX and I have United Healthcare. So far out of all the bariatric surgeons close to me there's only one that won't take it.
  11. Well at 5.5 cc's I could still eat bread. I'm at 6 cc's as of Tuesday but I haven't tried bread yet. I told my surgeon I had dumplings at Thanksgiving and he flipped and said that If I could eat dumplings I definitely needed a fill.
  12. OKay maybe this is it for me. I hope! Last night I had a 1/2 cup of mushy food and I got satisfied off that. I woke up today and I'm not hungry. I had a hard time swallowing my meds. They didn't get stuck but I could feel them going down and thought they might get stuck.
  13. How much did it take before you reached maximum restriction? My bariatric surgeon said most people with 10 cc bands hit the sweet spot around 5.75 cc's. That said I had none at all at 5.5 cc's so he went up to 6 cc's on me yesterday. He thinks I really shouldn't need more for several months. Thoughts? Have most of you hit your sweet spot before 6?
  14. I got my 4th fill today which brought me to 6 cc's in a 10 cc band. My surgeon said most people hit their sweet spot between 5 and 6. I drank Water and it went down fine. I'm on liquids now. I'm burping like mad and I sometimes feel like I have air trapped. Like I need to burp and can't. I'm not using straws or drinking anything carbonated. Is this normal or is my band maybe too tight? Earlier I was drinking some water. It went down fine but a few minutes later I got this overwhelming urge to throw up. My mouth started watering like mad and I fought the urge to throw up for almost 5 minutes until it passed. Is this normal? I go back on foods Thursday.
  15. Well I'm up to 6 cc's as of today's fill. I hope it does the trick for me. It took him forever to find my port this time. He was started to worry me but he finally got it.
  16. I'm getting another fill tomorrow. I plan to get my butt in gear now and get the scale moving again.
  17. I have to get recommitted to my diet and exercise. I go back for another fill on Tuesday and I'm hoping that helps but in the meantime I've finally found a great remedy for my tiredness/ lack of energy. I found this stuff called Hi Ener G at my local Kmart. It really works with no jitters or side effects. http://www.puritan.com/energy-244/hi-ener-g-500-mg-065455?NewPage=1
  18. Trying hard to start exercising every day. I did 30 minutes on my treadmill today. I only got 1.25 miles but that's a start I guess.
  19. I had restriction after my first fill but that went away. I called and they got me in for next week. I'm hoping that will help.
  20. My weight is just permanently stuck right now.
  21. Congratulations!! You are doing awesome!
  22. I was banded in August of this year. I got my third fill a few weeks ago. I have no restriction and the surgeon said he'd do my next fill in 3 months!! I'm calling today to see if he will reconsider. I'd like another fill next week. I'm currently at 5.5 cc's in a 10 cc band.
  23. I can eat fatty stuff with no problems so I guess for me it's just the sugar??
  24. I started using Gas Defense. It's just a digestive enzyme. As long as I take it every day I don't have any problems anymore. http://www.digestiveadvantage.com/prod_gas.html I get mine at Wal Mart. It's $7.50 for a month supply.
  25. Okay lately every time I have sweets, even just one piece of chocolate, I get indigestion for hours on end after wards. I feel full and I burp and burp and burp for hours on end. Why is that? Can any of you not do sweets anymore?
