How To Tighten A Lap Band Without A Port Head?
Elcee, Elcee, Elcee......you obviously don't have the intelligence, understanding, or originality to have a valuable view on the matter.

Getting "regular" Again...
Keep In mind, if you've been on a liquid diet pre-op there's probably not much to move through....for me MOM is an overnight kind of thing....take it at bedtime and usually the next morning it makes itself known. I usually take colace stool softener a opulent days pre-op and a couple days post-op because every time I have surgery I get caked up. The constipation after my c-section was worse than the surgical pain!!! Good luck!

Band Removal
I'm 3 weeks post removal and can honestly say the band helped my eating habits. I can have a couple bites of the really really bad stuff instead of eating til I'm stuffed....however, long term it would be a major struggle.

How To Tighten A Lap Band Without A Port Head?
- My Stomach Died.
Holy cow!!! I hope you feel better and please take care of yourself. Any idea why they let your slip go so long???? Mine was found on a Thursday and by Friday I was on the schedule for urgent removal the following week, I guess I should go thank my doc- Question
Very very different for everyone....different bodies, different band sizes, there's just not. Standard amount. Some people feel they've hit green with no fills, some max their band out.- How Much How Often?
Per the CDC: 150 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic activity weekly PLUS strength training 2 or more times a week that involves all large muscle groups for adults up to 65....I typically tell my patients 45-60 minutes 4-5 days a week....7 seems unattainable :/- Lapband Revison To Sleeve
- Revision Approval?
My band slipped so removal was medically necessary and insurance approved it no problem. I was worried about revision approval because my BMI is now 36 and I have no comorbidities. However, for a change, insurance was fairly smart and said, since my band failed they would assume without the band I would return to my pre-op BMI (50) and my hypertension would return so the approved revision to whatever procedure my bariatric surgeon recommended....the entire approval from first phone call took 30ish minutes since it was considered an urgent surgery. Sadly, my stomach was inflamed and generally pissed off at the time so band was removed and I have a six month healing time before revision.- Just Met With The Dr.

Today I am 3 weeks post band removal and 173 days until my bypass it sucks but you gotta do whatever is safest and has the best chance of a good long term outcome.- Need Some Feed Back......it Important Question To Me
I had my band on Wednesday and went to work the following Monday. I'm on my feet all day too but no lifting or straining. The first 2 days I was pretty tired, by Wednesday (1 week post op) I was ready to roll....but also 6 weeks is fine for an appearance with friends, you'll just have to be careful, you can always say you've had a stomach bug or something.- First Weigh-In
- First Weigh-In
Lesson learned the hard way. For my first visit and weigh in to the surgeon, I wore the lightest clothing I owned, didn't drink anything, and attempted to pee every last drop out before getting on the scale. At my follow up it dawned on me how incredibly unbrilliant this was! I should have worn normal to heavy clothes and slurped all the water in the world so later it looked like I'd lost more! Oops!- Lapband Revison To Sleeve
Band taken out 3 weeks ago, will be getting bypass in February. Worst case scenario, you try diet and exercise and are not successful....then you can consider the sleeve more seriously. If you are truly dedicated to diet and lifestyle changes, maybe you can do it now, maybe the band was the training weeks you needed and now you'll be fine without anything. If you are gaining, if you are getting out of control, set down and have a serious discussion with your surgeon about it. Good luck!!!!- I Have A ?

- Bat Wings Anyone?
Working out will tone the underlying muscle and make the overall aesthetic a bit better. The skin will shrink a tad with time. BUT for the most part, once skin is stretched beyond the breaking point of its elasticity you are up a creek....think of a rubber band (or condom if that works better for you) you can stretch and stretch and stretch it, but once it's snapped, no matter how much you try, you can't put it back together. Those elastic fibers are broke.- Denied :(
I can seriously hold 5 pounds of water weight if I try....potato chips and salty nuts will get me every time (and make my blood pressure go up so I'd have a comorbidity!)- Net Cals
My exercise calories are my window to play with (keep in mind I'm attempting to maintain, not lose). I shoot for what MFP says is my daily goal then if I go over a little I'm covered by exercise. I do not intentional eat my exercise calories on a daily basis though....- Lapband Removal
Good luck today!!!! Remember walk walk walk and drugs are your friend!!!!- Considering Lb Surgery. Help.
So, for a different point of view (FYI, this thread amused me greatly) I am a failed band, had it removed almost 3 weeks ago secondary to slip. I was banded 12/2009 @ 295 with a BMI of about 50. I did well for about 6 months then had an episode of tightness leading to dehydration leading to total unfill and IV fluids. I had some restriction but was not too tight, I as slowly and consistently losing weight but it was the week before my period, 4th of July weekend and things just got tight. I went to liquids, but never recovered. After the unfill things were never the same. I NEVER could get to a comfortable spot with my band. We put a little in here and there but essentially any time I'd add anything I'd have to have it removed soon after. Upper GI was normal. So I played the band game. I ate mostly what I should but had great difficulty with solid Protein, I drank my Water, I exercised very little. I got down to and maintained around 225 with a BMI of 36 ish. I lost essentially half my excess body weight which is about average. I did not drink through straws, drink sodas, eat a lot of crap..... I spent a couple years with almost nothing in my band and I maintained that weight. This summer I developed severe reflux, waking up at night choking, chest pain with any foods (soft or otherwise) and eventually difficulty tolerating liquids. I was found to have a slipped band. Was I a perfect bandster? No. Was I bad and did so etching to my band? No. Sometimes **** happens.... Do I hate bands? No. Will I have another? No way. When I had my band removed I had so much inflammation and irritation that my surgeon felt it unsafe to do an immediate revision and I'm now in a 6 month healing period before I can get bypass. In hind site I have a lot of problems with allergies and drainage and my band didn't like that. I catch every GI bug that comes through the clinic, and my band didn't like that....I was not the best choice for a band. Knowing what I know now, I would have gotten a gastric sleeve (except the weren't being done here yet). The band works for some but there's a chunk of us out there that it didn't work for. It is reversible as they say but that doesn't mean there's not permanent damage being done that can ever be taken out. I know of 1 case where the band did so much damage the patients surgeon told her she can never safely have another bariatric surgery (1 out of a million yes, but still something to think about). FYI I am a family practice physician assistant, my surgeon is one of the best in the area and who you go to if there's a problem or you need a revision. I went in to this well educated with a good surgical/bariatric program to support me. I again contend that sometimes **** just happens and you can't really predict who it'll happen to! Best of luck with your decision. Get to know all 3 procedures and talk to people who have been successful as well as those who have not been successful. As for bravo-omega-fatty acid dude, he's a freak, ignore him. I love how he talks about 'intel' cuz obviously he's important and in the know on all things lapband. - My Stomach Died.
