  1. Post op(the first time) I actually found I enjoyed the ritual of cooking for my son (he was 5 at that time). Now, I did make him tacos my first week post-op when I was on liquids and that almost killed me I was starving so bad but once I was off liquids cooking was fine again.
  2. Gotta be there at 5:30 so subtract 2 1/2 hours HW 312, pre-op (lap-band) 294, pre-op (RNY) 251, surgery date 2/11/13, goal weight 155, current weight 251
  3. Yup....like wood is to a fire, food fuels us, excess comes off as heat. Post-op we aren't getting as much fuel as we are used to (thank God!!!) so we are fueling the furnace like before.
  4. Yes because there are certain precautions they have to take due to the apnea. But again depends on your surgeon good luck!!nn

  7. Feb. 11th it is! I'm the first surgery so gotta be there at 5:30. Because I'm a revision I get a 2-3 day stay instead of 1-2 day and a larger chance that I get to go home with a JP drain (still thinks he can probably do it without the drain). If I get a drain I get to keep it for 4 (YES FOUR) weeks. That'll be fun at work!!! And the best news of all!!!! His nurse lied to me, he only wants me on 2 weeks of shakes! I get to eat again til Sunday!!!! Woohoo!!!! I see a burger in my future
  8. Oh heck scary issue = scar tissue
  9. Sitting at the surgeons office waiting to do all my pre-op fun. Let's do it!!!!
  10. All I had was an EKG....I have no cardiac history though. Good luck!
  11. Good luck!!!! I'm a band to bypass as well except one of the unlucky ones that when he removed my band had too much scary issue and inflammation so got sent home for 6 months to heal :/. Six long darn months!!! I'm up for the actual revision on Feb. 11 and oh so ready!!! There's a thread called Fabulous February under pre-op that has all the Feb folks!
  12. I know, very uncouth to share that info with you but the only time I get to check the boards here is when I'm on a potty break and that one happened to have wicked funny timing :/ glad I could brighten our day!
  13. Glad we can share this misery together. On a lighter note I've peed at least a zillion times, not gonna have any 'water weight' on this girl!
  14. Day 1 on pre-op, headachy, irritable, crabby as hell....lord I forgot how much I hate this crap!!!!!
  15. I feel your pain, identical story. Band out August 1 with plan to revise at that time but too mic inflammation and scarring. My six months is up Feb. 1, RNY Feb. 11.....it's been a LONG six months!!! Pester them to give you a surgery date....knowing there's an end in sight helped!!!
  16. I agree....so many people seem unhappy with losing 30 or 40 pounds in 2 or 3 months, maybe if we can go back and look at the old us it will hep!
  17. Awesome!!! I got the clear juice type flavors....they are expensive as heck but will start trying em out later this week. I'm hoping I can mix 1/2 a bottle with crystal light so it's somewhat hidden behind the crystal light flavoring....Hoping!!! 1/2 bottle is 20 grams of Protein so post op, if its tolerable, I can sip It all day as my fluids...maybe, if I don't hate it :/. Do you have other options or is this what he requires??
