I started looking into a surgical option to help with my weight issues.  I researched the surgery my insurance would cover in 2008, the gastric bypass, and felt it was far to invasive.  In 2009, my insurance opted to cover the lap-band.  Then the hard part was getting the amount of weight the insurance company required before I could get the surgery authorized.  I didn't do too well and had to get my time extended.  That time it was the kick in the pants I needed and I was able to drop the required weight.  Once I was able to see the surgeon, it all happened pretty quickly.  My surgery was delayed because I got sick and the surgeon rightly postponed it twice.  That was frustrating, but both times he made the right call.  I ended up getting the surgery two days before Christmas.  Am four days after surgery and feel surprisingly good.
