  1. Honestly, I can not bring myself to do it. I might if I was away but live in a small town and have not told many people. For now, I am just spending too much on food I guess.
  2. Found it! https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AjNypE3FM5sgdE1ZR0J6UV80YUpzRVlMUlRKVzhDa0E&hl=en#gid=0
  3. I think it was in here that we had a chart set-up where a bunch of us entered our progress. Anyone know how to find it?
  4. Why can't I find this anymore?
  5. Great job on your weight loss! I too have been experiencing the acid reflux. The nights are no fun at all. I sleep with a few pillows and still it wakes me up feeling like acid went down my airway. I am thinking it might be that I have a cup of coffee in the morning and I was noticing my Dr. has a no caffiene rule in his book. Also I might be eating too late at night before going to bed. How did your esophagram go? My last fill was about a year ago. so I find it odd that this is just now a problem.
  6. YEA YEA YEA Well done! I am close to my goal and have about another 12 pounds to go. Sure seems slow the closer I get. I am chasing after those last few pounds and hope to see a plastic surgeon in August and schedule some work before the end of the year as well. I wish there were better options for arms and inner thigh skin though. The belly scar does not seem to bad and totally worth it. I am so happy in my new body but after spending my entire life up and down on the scale, I still worry about this not lasting and ending up heavy again. Honestly it feels like the band has done most of the work, my food choices are not always so great but the band wont let me over eat or pig out on carbs. Wondering if any of this sounds familiar....
  7. Hello there gang, I'ts hard to believe that a year has already gone by (mine is on Thursday). We are all doing well and figuring this thing out one step at a time. For me one of the hardest things has been my mind. At 84 pounds lost, I am wearing jeans that I have not been in since highschool......so why am I not excited? I get on the scales and think of a new goal rather than celebrating that I reached the last one. Deep down I think I am afraid. When you live a life where you struggle with weight, you put on and take off weight constantly. It feels like I have done this a million times before and I wonder if my lack of excitement is out of fear that it's only temporary. Is anyone else going through this?
  8. I am an operating room nurse and a part of the team that does the bypass as well as the banding. I personally went with the band as have other nurses I know. You can gain weight back either way.....it's all choices. The bypass surgery is a much more invasive procedure. Any surgery will have complications that go with it but the list is longer when it comes to bypass.
  9. How do you like your Shape-Up shoes? I am on my feet a ton when at work and thought they maybe good for posture.
  10. Just hours after my surgery to get my band, I was in my hospital room. An aid walked in to take my blood pressure. We talked about the New Year that was 2 days away. She said "this year you will keep your weight loss resolution and not even have to do any work to make it happen". I was stunned.....wish I had been more bold and less sedated to remind her that it is not a magic band and still requires a ton of work!
  11. My MD wants me to have 64oz of water every day. the fluid from the protien drinks is in addition to that. Dehydration is huge! sip sip sip
  12. Thanks, I needed that. My banding was on 12-30 and today is hard. I'm hungry and the fluids are just not cutting it. I have not ever had restriction and that scares me a little. I am excited about the future and am taking baby steps. One good day at a time.
  13. Yea my port still hurts too even had some bleeding the last couple days but MD said all is well. Nice to have you a week ahead of me....gives me an idea of whats around the next corner. You have done great with your loss...keep up the great work!
