    Gas pains....

It took almost a month before the gas pains went away for me.

    Permanent Make up

I had upper/lower eye liner tattooed about 5 years ago. It didn't even last a year, and it was painful! My eyes were swollen for more than a day. I don't know if it was the technique used or what because I usually have a high tolerance to pain. It also cost me almost $500.00. As everyone else stated, do you research first!

    What do you all do?

I graduated from nursing school last year and passed the NCLEX for my RN license. Unfortunately, I did this in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I live in Texas now so I will need to apply for a new license in order to be able to work in Texas. I just found out last week that I have a broken foot so I am going to wait until I am healed before I look for work.
  4. It took me a full 3 weeks before I felt normal again. I was also lucky not to have had to sleep only on my back. I was able to sleep on either side from day 1.
  5. The black discoloration "may" mean necrosis (tissue death). You need to get to your doctor immediately! Don't take any chances. Please keep us posted.
  6. Do you mind me asking you what insurance you have?

    Gas Attack! Newly Banded

I had constant shoulder pain, mostly in my left shoulder, until almost 3 weeks post-op. It still comes back briefly now and then. But nothing like before. Gas-X and walking didn't seem to help me that much.
  8. I have Tricare and they took less than one week to approve the lap-band®. This was in mid December. I could have had surgery on January 4, after my pre-op diet but I decided to put it back one week so I can at least enjoy Christmas dinner. From my initial visit with my primary to ask for the referral, to my surgery date, it only took about 1 1/2 months. It happened so fast that I didn't even really have time to let it sink in. I guess that is a good thing.

1 week postop and still bad gas

I agree! I have learned a lot more from this forum than what I got from my doctor. I am over 3 weeks post-op and I am still getting pain in my left shoulder. It is not constant anymore but it is still an issue. My doctor didn't say a thing about pain in the shoulders.
  10. Congrats on your continued weight loss! Have you looked at "Justmysize.com" for bras? They always have bras on sale. This is the only place I get mine. I refuse to spend more than around $20 on a bra. I have bought them for as little has $15.99 each (plus s/h). This is still a great deal. Walmart also has bras at reasonable prices. Hope this helps.

    Any January 2010 Bandsters????

Oh no, sorry to hear about that. Gout can be painful in itself. What are they going to do for your foot? Hope you heal quickly.

    Any January 2010 Bandsters????

I am only 3 weeks post-op and now I am having to deal with a set-back. :frown: I had been having pain in my foot since May of 2009. It seemed to be going away over the last few months until I started on the treadmill. The pain started to get worse again so I decided to go to a podiatrist. Well to my complete surprise, I was told that I have a "Jones fracture". Basically, that means I have a broken bone in the outside of my foot, up from my baby toe. Now I have to where this huge boot for 3 months. If the bone doesn't heal, I will need surgery. What a pain in the you know what!!! Sorry, I am just venting...
  15. I am glad that I found this thread. I am just about 3 weeks post-op and I too still have left shoulder pain. It started in both the right and left shoulder but now it is just in the left shoulder.
  16. Hi Susan,

I was hoping you can help me. I noticed that I don't have the option to start a new thread. Do I need to do anything else other than register in order to have the option to start a new thread?

    Thanks in advance.

  17. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply!

    Banding and Thyroid

I too have hypothyroidism (Hashimotos thyroiditis). As long as your levels are checked, and you are on the right dose of medication, it should not affect your weight loss.
  19. You look fantastic and a lot younger... amazing!!

Would you mind sharing what your typical daily intake would be? Do you exercise regularly? I would like to be able to lose at least 80 lbs by the end of summer. I don't know if that is possible. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  20. Very inspirational Amy, thank you so much! Congrats on your success. :smile2:
  21. I am so glad you went to the doctors and found out what was going on, and that it all worked out for you. Thanks for giving us an update.

    Lap-Band Failure Rates

I asked my doctor if he stitched the band to prevent slipping and he said he didn't. I don't know if that is the norm.
  24. I would suggest that you call your doctor's office right away for the doctor on call (if that is an option). If you are in that much pain you might need to go to the ER. I wouldn't wait it out. Please keep us posted.
