  1. It took almost a month before the gas pains went away for me.
  2. I had upper/lower eye liner tattooed about 5 years ago. It didn't even last a year, and it was painful! My eyes were swollen for more than a day. I don't know if it was the technique used or what because I usually have a high tolerance to pain. It also cost me almost $500.00. As everyone else stated, do you research first!
  3. I graduated from nursing school last year and passed the NCLEX for my RN license. Unfortunately, I did this in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I live in Texas now so I will need to apply for a new license in order to be able to work in Texas. I just found out last week that I have a broken foot so I am going to wait until I am healed before I look for work.
  4. It took me a full 3 weeks before I felt normal again. I was also lucky not to have had to sleep only on my back. I was able to sleep on either side from day 1.
  5. The black discoloration "may" mean necrosis (tissue death). You need to get to your doctor immediately! Don't take any chances. Please keep us posted.
  6. Do you mind me asking you what insurance you have?
  7. I had constant shoulder pain, mostly in my left shoulder, until almost 3 weeks post-op. It still comes back briefly now and then. But nothing like before. Gas-X and walking didn't seem to help me that much.
  8. I have Tricare and they took less than one week to approve the lap-band®. This was in mid December. I could have had surgery on January 4, after my pre-op diet but I decided to put it back one week so I can at least enjoy Christmas dinner. From my initial visit with my primary to ask for the referral, to my surgery date, it only took about 1 1/2 months. It happened so fast that I didn't even really have time to let it sink in. I guess that is a good thing.
  9. I agree! I have learned a lot more from this forum than what I got from my doctor. I am over 3 weeks post-op and I am still getting pain in my left shoulder. It is not constant anymore but it is still an issue. My doctor didn't say a thing about pain in the shoulders.
  10. Congrats on your continued weight loss! Have you looked at "Justmysize.com" for bras? They always have bras on sale. This is the only place I get mine. I refuse to spend more than around $20 on a bra. I have bought them for as little has $15.99 each (plus s/h). This is still a great deal. Walmart also has bras at reasonable prices. Hope this helps.
  11. Awesome weight loss, congrats!!
  12. Claricey I am so sorry for your loss and for the hard times you are going through. Thank you for your words of encouragement. Keep hanging in there. :smile2:
  13. Oh no, sorry to hear about that. Gout can be painful in itself. What are they going to do for your foot? Hope you heal quickly.
  14. I am only 3 weeks post-op and now I am having to deal with a set-back. :frown: I had been having pain in my foot since May of 2009. It seemed to be going away over the last few months until I started on the treadmill. The pain started to get worse again so I decided to go to a podiatrist. Well to my complete surprise, I was told that I have a "Jones fracture". Basically, that means I have a broken bone in the outside of my foot, up from my baby toe. Now I have to where this huge boot for 3 months. If the bone doesn't heal, I will need surgery. What a pain in the you know what!!! Sorry, I am just venting...
