  1. The greatest advice I ever got was "the band is just a tool"'and ain't that the truth. my band is at a perfect fill right now, so why cant I feel motivated to work out or even eat right? I'm almost pre-op weight and lightbulb hit when I was the on the plane the other day and I couldn't buckle the belt. same thing happened before I got the band. anyone have any "back to basic" advice? this morning going to grab the greek yogurt, Vitamin drink etc and hopefully do liquids for maybe a couple days? thoughts?
  2. I'm a horrible lap band patient in terms of yearly upper GIs and such.the band is a tool and I've had my ups and downs and right now I'm at my lowest. Tomorrow I have to get unfilled for my first upper gi in 4 years. Yes 4 years. I'm thinking of not getting filled back up again and just letting the band be. Is anyone not filled at all?.when i first got the band my surgeon even said some people never get filled. I've been all the way up to 10cc and now I'm at 4. I want too continue to work out at cross fit and see if i can Control my eating like i can now.

    So everything looked perfect! It was so weird to see video and picture. No acid reflux no esophagus erosion. No slip. So I'm happy its over with. Thanks for everyone input!

    I guess i didn't realize there's an endoscope upper gi anf well I'm not getting that one. Although I've had that done before too.

    Ok now I'm totally freakin out.... I thought it would normal to get unfilled... But i guess i would need to there's no way i could drink that gross stuff and keep it down without throwing up and prob causing more issues... Aahhhhhhhh

    Crossfit

    I do crossfit but make sure i have high protein food since carbs is a no go and must veggies for me. The cafe mocha water is great replacement for coffee

    Crossfit? Anyone?

    I started crossfit in nov 2012 at a size 20 I'm now a size 16. At first i was scared and nervous and couldn't do some of the stuff i simply couldn't lift my body enough. I couldn't litterally jump a half inch off the ground now i can jump 12 inches. My husband is a trainer and its just a bonus to the band. If i don't workout i don't lose.. Period. I am a huge advocate for cross fit cause like anything else if you stick.with it you see results. And fast! I think we should make a crossfit band group on this forum!

    Hi everyone! Trying to find anyone that is doing crossfit as part of their routine! is it working? do you like it? have you jumped on the paleo band wagon? No one at the gym knows I have the band and do not realize I will lose faster than everyone else and thats why I can not join the challenages. Would love if there was someone out there that can relate or swap stories with! thanks alicia

    Did i just find the best thread! I do cross fit and my husband is a trainer. My husband has done paleo whether casual or hard core he's done both. I am very interested in what and how much people eat on paleo.

  12. If this were me at this point I would probably have it taken out already. Even with the weight ive lost the port if right there now under the skin and it freaks me out. Definitely get to the dr asap.

    If I am at a good restriction when I fly it gets really tight so if you drink anything just sip. I definitely noticed it a couple of times.

    What is wrong with me?

    I feel like im beating a dead horse with this whole, i fell off track thing. I read back on my posts from months ago, and i feel im still at the same place. im not working out, not eating what i should and NOW im at my max fill. just got filled the other day. WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH ME? was i really ready for the lapband? was i ready to change my eating habits? was i ready? i feel as if i were i would have co-operated by now! u also think i would be motivated. im a matron of honor in my sisters wedding in october and i hate my fat arms!!! what is wrong with me! (sighs)

    Failed

    natalia i am right there with you! i was banded in nov 09 and have lost 40. i have been the same weight and size since april. the band has helped me not gain. im not eating right or working out. i thought the same thing when i went for my final fill the other day. "what will they think of my loss and im at my max fill" they didnt get mad or critisize me at all. it was nerve racking though. we can do this!!!!

    gettin back on track

    so funny how things go hand in hand. i feel ive been a bit off track. im a 6cc in a 11cc band. i go for my 3rd fill in 2 weeks. also i looked and im not on this site as much so its easy to forget ive been banded. as weird as that might sound.:frown: i have a tool! i need to use it!:thumbup: back to liquids for a couple days for me. i know i can do it. i need to be focused. back to the gym today for me too. i can just feel that my next fill will help me. i just know it. when people use to say "oh ive gained on the band or oh it doesnt work" well now i know why. its because they gave up. they didnt get re-focused. its so easy to lose the focus. and i dont wanna be that person. im not gonna give up on my band. im gonna get re focused. i cant wait to find my "sweet spot" thats gonna be awesome. but in the meantime i need to stop eating the sweets!:redface:

    Scheduled 3rd Fill

    you took the words right out of my mouth! i feel the exact same way! right now im 6cc ina 11cc band but feel the same as 4cc. i egt my 3rd fill march 8th i believe. also im struggling with finding a good menu plan every day. its very easy to go back to my old ways. i also need to do a liquid diet to get going again. im going grocery shopping today and starting my work out. i want to find my sweet spot!

    trial and error

    so this week has been a series of trial and error. and its only tuesday! Sunday had a family dinner and def had some sangria. i grazed and drank. then on monday i said im gonna be good. people at work ordered burgers and i got one. ate the burger at noon. totally didnt eat slow and totally ate the whole thing. i was ssoooooooo stuffed i couldnt possibly eat anything for rest of the day and night. i sipped water. that was the first time i have ever ate to feel that full. WHATA MISTAKE! today im very bloated. im barely ate all day. i sipped crystal light. my friend dragged my butt to the gym for the 2nd time in a week. (trying to get my groove back) i decided i was gonna weight myself. to my surprize i lost weight since my fill 3 weeks back and im 1 pound away from losing 30. phew....that def gave me a lil confidence back since ive been so horrible this week. and actually if i wasnt so bloated ive prob lost more. ill take the loss.:w00t:

    There always ur first......

    so yesterday was my first day working out! to me it wasnt a full work out though. i worked out for 20 min. wow am i outta shape or what. first time doing exercise in 7 weeks. i was so hungry all day long yesterday! my metabolism was racing and just kept trying to get good amount of protein to control my hunger. it was hard. i am so tired today not only did i work out but i worked 12 hours yesterday and got 7 hours of sleep. ouch. not my normal day thats for sure. im so tired today and really should get my butt into gear. maybe ill work out after work today at 3 and let my body rest for the morning. i also started my REALIZE food diary yesterday. i do need to customize it a little. god losing weight is alot of work!!! :mad:
