tomorrow....im wicked nervous! any suggestions or what is it really like? does it hurt?

Hi all, Im 3 weeks post op as of yesterday...doc plan is 2 weeks poat op liquid, 2 weeks of mashed (which i started the 24th) and then the 10th I can do reg food. I am starting now to notice really being hungry, (no fills until 6wks post) i have been having cravings bad! So tonight even though i know wasnt too healthy, but made mashed potatoes (which doc said was ok) and put a tiny bit of grnd bacon and shredded cheddar cheese on it and melted it. I am def feeling like i ate too much....and am nervous i may stretch my pouch, but previous he had assured me wasnt really possible unless i vomited etc...which thankfully i NEVER have...are my concerns valid about stretching or just nervous??

OK have to share this because I ROTFLMFAO! I have both nipples pierced and have for over 6 years..I had bioflex in for the surgery and went to change back the other night. I put in a curved barbell, and had no bra on or anything, have been in pjs on couch chillin after surgery...when I leaned forward to boost up on the couch and got the damn barbell stuck on one of my staples!!!!! OMG I at first freaked, but then laughed my ass off and thought omg thank god nothing happened or how the hell would i explain that one!!! LMAO

I voted yea...it is def a mood thing! And def a lube job needed, LOL...but its hot. BUT like everything else to each his own...some people dont use toys and think their the devil spawn, lol so its all in what one likes...:tongue_smilie:

Thank you, the really bad pain has gone away but it is still awful sore there. But like you said port goes into muscle and I totally forgot that! The day the real bad pain started I wasnt doing a damn thing...walking around house, etc, but today i walked way too much, had to get out of house for the first time in a weekm went to wally world and ya way over did it and am paying for it! But alas ill be sitting my ass on the couch and taking it easy tomorrow, hard to remember i am only a week postop...lol. never thought of heating pad, or ice, maybe thatll help...hmmm, im def nice n cozy had to get new jammies!

Did not feel port at all, then as a previous post said I had some drinking too fast issues I think last night and came pain near port. Doc said was discomfort from drinking too fast but I'm waking up this am with same pain on deep breath!? Maybe swelling down and now feeling it more? I'm only a week postop? Any ideas?

Ya def ask doc, mine said adult strength liquid tylenol 2 tsp mixed with adult strength liquid motrin 2 tsp (and if can't find adult take 4tsp childrens each) the mix worked well, pain and swelling wise. Think the tylenol I got said "rapid blast" it tastes horrible, but worked and I couldn't find adult motrin so used the kids mixed w/adult tylenol! Good luck

Most def have same issues! Learning to sip and not drink like I use to is hard! And def not getting in 64 oz, I'm lucky if I get 32 in in a day! Glad to see I'm not the only one!

May not be directly related to post, but there's def seasoned banders answering who I am hoping can help me! I'm now a week post op was doing pretty well until last night. Was in the middle of a CIB shake and got this horrible pain under the large (assuming port incision) and hurt to take a deep breath, to bend, to get up off couch all of which did not hurt before. I'm so paranoid I'm going to "do something" like stretch it, slip it, move port? I took pain med following bout an hour later it just still killed, does any veteran think it was just drinking too fast, or too much and not realizing (having probs realizing it soon enough sometimes), or something else? Still hurts this am when I take a deep breath, I did email doc last night and he said drank too fast just want piece of mind someone else has had same issue or?

on my left side but in between large incision on a smaller one, which from what i read the larger one is my port, which makes sense cuz when it hurt like hell bout an hr ago i could feel something there, it has since gotten a lil less but ive also taken pain med....not sure whats going on

just thinking outloud...have been gasy feeling after milk and read so many lactose issue after surgery so tried lactaid with CIB and this is when the pain started, hmmm, and also have not burped since surgery which im thinking is hurting too??

my doc said upon discharge from hospital dont be concerned if you dont lose anything in the first month, focus on healing...the band is for food restriction not to worry bout it the first month. just what my doc said....although ive lost 7lbs since being home...

wondering if it really bad gas? or gas bubble with liquid on top? or if did something??? so nervous bout stretching the pouch...or slippage or something going wrong with the port??? UGH
