  1. Is that what I'm feeling when I wake up? Its the strangest pain or sensation....like when I get up, something moves back down to my stomach from my chest. And it only happens when I get up from a laying position to sitting up or getting up. Is that gas? It kind of feels like I need to burp but its a painful burp....
  2. Hello Amber, I'm in Austin as well...well Leander actually. But close enough. I was banded on Tuesday. Like you, had kiddos and got lost in the process of providing for the family and all that other stuff. I've managed to get to a size 20....in the past 10 years. And now its time to take control of this.... I hope everything goes smoothly for you and its too bad you have to go 6 months but believe, the time will fly by VERY quickly.
  3. So wish I could burp....it would be nice. LOL. I feel the pressure to but it comes out a lil', almost like a painful burp and sneeze at the same time. Hate that feeling.
  4. Yeah, I've never heard of pre-op doing clear diet...as Ale78 outlined, thats how it usually goes. I, however had the Atkins as my pre-op diet for 2 weeks. Definitely give them a call to clarify.
  5. Good luck Maggi...hope you have a speedy recovery. I got mine yesterday and I'm feeling okay, but I'm making sure to take my pain meds like I should too.
  6. I took pics today...even though my surgery was yesterday. Your so right, until you see it on film...you have no idea how big you really are.
  7. Hello Queen...I'm scheduled for tomorrow as well. I know a few ladies at my job who have had it done. Some have it a few complications, while some eat everything in sight as if they don't have a band. But out of the 4 ladies I know...2 have already in a year to year and a half time lost 100lbs. So I see it does work...
  8. Hello everyone... I am getting banded tomorrow as well...I go in at 5:30am.
  9. Yeah, I talked to some of the ladies at my job who had Dr. Esquivel in Austin...and said he kind of does things out of the norm. I guess it works, I know others around me said they can tell I've lost weight by seeing my face and stuff....I kind of feel it w/ my slacks for work, their baggier. I just keep freaking out that I won't get my surgery done because of the slip up.....lol.
  10. Can someone explain why some do the liquid pre-op compared to the Atkin's pre-op? I understand its for the same purpose, for the liver but why do some people get to eat and some don't? I've been on the Atkin's for the past 2 weeks, have I lost weight? Not sure since I don't have a scale and I had my moment on Friday and ate 3 cookies. Other than that, I've been real good. I just wonder...
  11. Hope thats how it works for me...lol. Well I don't have a scale at home so I think it might be a good idea on not buying a new one, like you I don't want to become obsessed w/ it. Glad your doing so well...I won't have my f/u until December 4th.
  12. You too! Good luck with yours as well.
  13. Well I would say talk to whoever your going to get the lapband through. I'm using TrueResults. They have someone that lays out the plan and walks you through the process to get to your surgery date. That includes helping with getting your appointments in order, insurance, etc.
  14. LOL. I had to laugh because I have my surgery on Tuesday and I'm doing the pre-op diet...however the Atkins one and have had my slip ups....like 3 chocolate chip Cookies that were sitting on the table at work. I so wanted them...and had been good this whole time....with just meat. Ugggh. LOL.
  15. Wow, your process went pretty fast too. How are you doing so far? Your about 2 weeks ahead of me.
  16. I got my lil' packet from my surgery on Tuesday for my pre-op appointment. Woo hoo! I've already gone through the process of tests, doctors appointments and insurance clearance. It began on September 9th with a consult and I'm finally getting my surgery on November 17th! I am so excited and nervous at the same time...since I've never had a major surgery. Can't wait to get know others on here going through the same thing or who have been there.
