  1. Mrs Beasley, I have not ate anything yet because my doctor requires 3 days of full liquids after a fill. Jengems, no numbing medication, you do not need it, seriously there is nothing to be scared of, it is a little poke that is it. Good luck.
  2. I weighed in at 222 today, my goal is 15 lbs by Valentine's day which would make me 207, wow I can't remember the last time I weighed that. Good luck everyone!!!!:rolleyes2:

    Eat what you want!

My surgeon told me never more than 1 cup (8oz) of food 3 times per day. I am not even eating that though, I stop when I feel satisfied, not full, but satisfied
  5. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Your success story is truly inspiring and motivating. I was just banded on 11-9-09 and everything has been going good so far. Do you have any suggestions, ideas, thoughts for the newly banded. What kind and how much excersise do you do? Do you have certain foods that you stay away from? Certain amount of daily caloric intake? Any advice would be great.

    "Lump" in my throat?

I have had this feeling several times, I was banded on 11-9-09 and still on a liquid diet so I know that nothing is getting stuck......it is just really wierd as it comes and goes, I was going to ask my doc about it next week when i go to my f/u appt.

    what about straws?

My doctor told me no straws because you swallow more air which causes gas and bloating. I have not heard anything about hairloss.

    Sex before and after Lapband

I hear ya sister!!!!!! I just got banded 11-9-09 and am hoping that this gets better real soon. This is the one thing that my husband and I fight about constantly, he wants it more and doesnt under stand that it has nothing to do with him and that it is me, he love me for who I am not what I look like, but that still doesn't change how often he gets it, which is about 1-2 a month. I am hoping that I get my sex drive back like I had pre babies/weight gain as life was good then.
  9. Hey the port pain will get better each day. I was banded 11-9-09 and went through the same thing and each day it gets better, I even went grocery shopping at Walmart last night without any problems. The hard lump is probably scar tissue forming, if you massage it that should help. I am still on a liquid diet until 12-8-09 which is starting to become hard, so I can't wait for mushies
  10. Hey, I was banded 11-9-09 also and still on a liquid diet, my surgeon requires 1 month of liquid diet which has been very challenging. I have decided not to weigh myself at home only to due it at my surgeons office which has been very difficult but it seems my scale differs so much each day and from their scale that I don't want that to mess with my head:rolleyes:. When I went in for 1 week post op appt 1 had lost 9 lbs so I was very happy with that. I go in again Dec 8th and can't wait to actually be able to eat something, Thanksgiving is going to be very hard. Hang in there and we will both start seeing the results of our hard work very soon:thumbup:

    I'm here to help...

Hi all, I am new to this site and need some help with it. How do you get your signature at the bottom? And how do you create a new question for all to see and answer? When people answer does it notify you or do you just have to go back and look at question? I know these are silly question but like I have said I am new to all of this. Thanks Kate

    Sex addiction?

I can only hope that this haapens to me, or at least some of it:-) Sex has been a huge issue for my husband an me, he wants it all the time and I don't because I don't have the desire and I don't feel sexy, but he doesn't understand that because he loves me no matter what. He has also accused me of getting it elsewhere becuase he isn't getting it enough, and I have tried to explain to him that it is not him, it is me and if I wanted it I would surely go to him for it, it makes me feel really bad and guilty and this is the one issue we fight about constantly, so I am really hoping for a change once the weight starts coming off. I don't think it is abonormal it is probably having everything kept inside you for so long and it is now getting a release and going crazy. I say go with it and see what happens, it is very good that you are talking to him about it.

    Do you drink soda?

My surgeon said never again, he even told me no caffeine, which I am really bummed about because I LOVE coffee. I asked him why on the caffeine and he said sometimes it is not tolerated well and why would you want to put something into your body with no nutrional value.....and I said becuase I love the taste of it:-) He is a very all natural kind a guy. Has anyone drank coffee?

    3rd day post surgery

I am so glad to read everbodies replies. I am 1 week post op and came home from work early today feeling like a big weenie because I was not up to par and I fully anticipated being back to myself by today, I even asked my nurse before surgery if I really had to take a whole week off at work because I have a desk job, I am SO glad she told me yes because there is not way I would have been able to go back last week. Besides having a desk job is hard for me because sitting is the most uncomfortalbe position for me due to my pain in the port area. I feel much better knowing that I am not the only one still not feeling 100% and that it can take a couple of weeks to get there. I have had 3 c-sections and thought this would be a breeze, WRONG!!! Has anyone had problems with light headedness and sweating? I am not sure if it is do to the drastic change in caloric intake since I am on a liquid diet for a month or something else going on..... How long does the port pain last?

    Lost Too Much Weight

Hi Amy, I just had my surgery last Monday 11-9-09 but before my surgery I did go through the same emotions and thoughts that you are going through. I think we go through them because it is the fear of the unknown, it is a huge change not being able to have food as your comfort, release, our best friend that is always there for us..... I scheduled my surgery as soon as my insurance approved it and here was my reasoning.... I had already met my deductible and out of pocket for this year so if I had it done before the end of the year it is covered at 100%, I wanted to be able to go camping this summer and feel be comfortable enough to wear shorts(yep not setting my standards high enough for swim suit :-) on the beach and not self conscious about it, and I also don't trust myself enough through the holidays not to pig out and have my "last supper" several times. It is going to be a long haul and alot of changes but with a postivie attitude and great support systems it is going to be awesome. Kate

    nauseous, dizzy & stuck?!

Hey I was banded on Mon 11-9-09 and I am going through the same thing you are. I was feeling better yesterday but now today I feel like something is stuck and I am very nauseous.....I also read some of your other post and the 3rd day after surgery was the worst for me too. I had alot of pain over my port, felt like someone was stabbing me, but that got better and now it is this stuff. I am new to Lap Band Talk and I think it is a great thing to be able to talk to people that are going through the same thing as you are and get support and ideas.

    Hi, I'm new here

I was banded on Mon 11-9-09 and everything went great. Don't be afraid to take your pain medicine, because if you are like me, you will have alot of pain over your port area for the first few days and then it starts to get better. This all seems like a dream to me so far....I have wanted this for so long and now that it is here, it just doesn't seem real. I can't wait for my 1st post op visit to see how I am doing. My doctor has me on a liquid diet for the 1st month and then will progess to soft foods.....I haven't been hungry yet, I actually have to make myself drink so I don't get dehydrated. Take care and good luck
