band erosion??
Gosh! It sounds like you have had one hell of a time the last little while. Why didn't they do an endoscope right away? I had one night of acid reflux after drinking Water too fast over a month ago and my doc did an endoscope right away and found band erosion the size of a very small pea. I had my band removed 2 weeks later and now I must wait 3 months before getting a new band. Everything about my experience is on my blog. I hope you feel better and that things get better for you. If it is band erosion, you have many options about what to do and I hope your doctor will help you make the right choice. best of luck

New Lapband, Patient

my band needs replacing
I had my band removed and in a few months I will get a new one. I had band erosion. The removal surgery is not painful at all.I am assuming that replacing the band is almost the same as getting a new one. I met someone while I was recovering from my surgery and his band was replaced and the surgery went well. He said it just felt like having the lapband surgery again but not as bad because he knew what to expect.

3cc's at the time of surgery
I know my doctor puts in a fill sometimes during surgery. When I had my surgery I didn't get a fill. Then I heard from another patient of his that she got a fill during surgery so I asked my doc again and again and he told me I didn't have a fill in me. When I went to get my first fill he even showed me that there was nothing in my band before putting in the saline. It really depends on the patient and the doctor.

Does anyone have a MIDband?
I don't live in Australia or have the midband but I have heard of it. A couple of weeks ago I got my band removed in Korea and while I was in recovering my doctor brought in another doctor who was visiting different countries in Asia to talk to them about bariatrics and the midband. This doctor is from Australia and gave me his business card. Maybe he can help you. Here is his info from his business card Dr Vincent Braniff M: 61 405 141 328 T: 61 2 9550 7271 Email: vbraniff@gmail.com I am not sure he is in Australia right now as I think he is back in Korea for a few days until next week I am not sure. Maybe you can email him? Hope this helps

October 2009 Surgery Date?
Those recipes look great. I think I am going to start making some of those Everyones weightloss sounds good. Don't forget not only are you celebrating a weightloss but also remember that it means you are not gaining any weight. Even seeing my scale not moving up makes me happy. Keep up the good work and maybe lose a few pounds for me while I work through my bump in the road

Does B-12 really give you energy? I need Energy.
when ever I get b-12 Vitamin shots I have tons of energy and lose lost of weight. Since that is very expensive I started taking the dissolving b-12 Vitamins but they didn't work as well. So if you need lots of energy get the shot, if you need a little energy take a few of the pills a day.

London, Ontario
I spoke with them and they will take me on as a patient for fills if I buy a post-op care package. So they are an option I could use.

How much weight did you lose in the first 4 months
I was banded for 4 months and lost 22kg so thats about 48 pounds ( even though there were a few bumps in the road). 2 weeks afters surgery I lost over 10 pounds so I think 20-30 pounds is very doable. I am even a low bmier so I thought my weight loss was slow compared to others. Good luck and have fun

band removed = no more shoulder pain?
I think my body is a little strange. When I was banded I never got the left shoulder pain but now that my band is removed I find if I eat too much I get the left shoulder pain. My doctor says it is because my stomach is smaller and still recovering from having the band removed.

Why do sweets go down so easy?
I think though bands are meant to help us lose weight, they still have a sweet tooth too therefore gladly accept sweets when your mouth lets some pass through

Bungee Jumping...?
I asked the same question a while back. I haven't gone jumping yet but I asked my doctor and he said though I was crazy to consider jumping it wouldn't hurt my band.

Lipo tips
well this doesnt really help with what I asked about. My doctor has a plastic surgery team that works with his patients for things like tummy tucks etc. It is great because if I do have a tummy tuck he would be there to make sure the port and tubing etc is placed right.

Can Anyone Give Me Their Fill Doctor Info
I was banded in Korea a few months ago. I had the band taken out because of erosin and will get another one in 3 months. I have started to do some research in trying to find a fill doctor for when I do go back to Canada to live but I haven't had much luck. I will be living in Ontario but traveling anywhere in Canada will be a heck of a lot closer then Korea. Can anyone give me their fill doc contact info so I can contact them to see if they would accept me as a patient? I am starting to freak out. I am self pay and so far I can only find places that want me to pay $5,000 for me to go to their clinic for fills. I can't afford that! I am hoping to find something cheaper. Thanks for the help in advance
