Why do they keeping saying this won't work?
Much faster than what? There is basically no recovery time for lapband.

Spring into March 2010 Bandsters
I got that little card yesterday at my 2 week post op.

Conservative VS Liberal
The same can be and was said about segregation a few decades ago. People grow up and realize the errors of their ways and try to fix them.

Question for those who did Optifast or other pre-op liquid (shake) only diet
Gingerjane, I think there is a big difference between Optifast and Medifast. I personally loved the Optifast and haven't heard anything good about Medifast at all.

March 2010 Bandsters
Last night I had 4 boneless buffalo wing and tossed them in the food processor until they were soupy and 4 ounces of potato salad after I mashed up the potatoes with a spoon. The night before I had 8 ounces of pinto Beans with 2 tablespoons fat free sour cream. I mushed the beans with a hand blender. I strained a can of New England clam chowder for lunch Sunday. I smashed it so the potatoes went through the strainer. Through the bits of clam out. Those are a few of the things I tried. But I got the ok about 2 hours ago to try real food!!!!

Spring into March 2010 Bandsters
I got nothing about my band at all. I was handed a piece of paper that had what I should eat for the next 4 weeks. I have my 2 week post-op this afternoon and hope I get the info then.

I noticed nothing different and spent 4 weeks having nothing but Optifast shakes.

Do You miss food?
I haven't eaten real food in over 5 weeks and I kind of miss it. Soon I will be eating real food again. Just not as much of it as I used to. As far as cookbooks and romance novels go, I watch the Food Network as if it were porn.

March 2010 Bandsters
I was banded on the 2nd and have had no sign of my surgery except for the scars since day 4 pre-op. I started purees a week ago and am not hungry but I am growing kind of bored with them. It's been over 5 weeks since I ate real food. I can hang in there though, it won't be much longer.

Good morning all. Welcome Amy. I too was up a pound this morning and can't chalk it up to female hormones. I have my 2 week post-op this afternoon. Going to ask if I can try real food. I am supposed to be on pureed for another 2 weeks but I'm feeling adventurous.

Post-Op Bandsters - When did or are you going back to work?
I have a desk job and honestly could have gone back to work the day of surgery. I was uncomfortable with the gas but nothing that would have impeded my ability to do my job. I took a week off anyways.

Tomorrow is my day!
Good luck. It is normal to be nervous but there is nothing to be nervous about. Most of us were back to normal in a few days. Just be prepared for lots of gas building up. It gets uncomfortable for a couple of days.

Jets Coach Get Lap Band
It makes some of them feel better about themselves and others have the gang mentality. I would have been entertained if there had been any original content but same old crap. May be next time.

3 Days after surgery and throwing up everything!
Kris, It's been 11 hours since you posted. I hope you called your surgeon's office. Mine told me to call immediately if I vomited at all.

Crystl, Sorry to hear about your snow emergency . That is traumatic. Take the day off! Glad you and your grandson are ok. Karen, how'd the gig go? Did you wow everybody in your new dress? Dottie, it sounds like you're enjoying yourself. Happy birthday!! Everybody else, Happy Monday!!

Aetna 2 year/24 mo. look back--does it mean 24 mo??
My surgeon's office just sent them my medical records from a doctor's appointment in March 2008 and their own records from an appointment at their office in September 2009. Just 2 weights. One from 2008 and one from 2009 and this was sufficient. So, I think the answer is 2 years.

What do you drink your shakes out of?
This is the first I have ever heard of anyone drinking by the hour. It seems like a lot of work and prep time to make a bunch of 2 ounce shakes. On my pre-op diet I had to drink 5 shakes. One every 3 hours but they were 10 ounces.

hi everyone
Welcome Alycia. Good luck tomorrow and keep that positive attitude!

banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group
It is almost 70 here today and sunny. I spent the day with the babies at the dog park. I'm gonna get a nastygram from the HOA for not mowing the lawn  Christie, I burn at the mere mention of sun. The worst thing about my pool is that there is no shade. Not limited shade, NO shade!

You live close enough to come over for a swim. I'm about 2 hours west of Tyler. Come on over. The dogs are not bright enough to keep their heads up and are afraid of the pool. I drag them in once in a while to stand should deep on the stair.
