  1. I don't think you can get it from the store. On the Optifast website you can locate a distributor. I don't think you have to be a patient of teh doctor to purchase it from them but I don't know.
  2. Bell, please call your surgeon! We can help each other with diet, attitude and even fashion but when it comes to real health issues, the only ones that know exactly what to do are the medical professionals.
  3. Answers below. Make sure to read as many posts and blogs on this site as you can. Everyone has a different perspective on things.
  4. This reminded me that I hadn't tried pizza since my second fill. If I am in pain I am going to blame all of you that posted here
  5. I've had two fills so far and am definitely feeling some restriction but so far pizza is still on the menu. Only now I eat 2 small slices instead of 2 small pizzas.
  6. I should've also included a congratulations on the weight you have lost. If everything you eat is getting stuck, you may still be too tight. This is just as bad or worse than not being tight enough because you have choice but to either cheat and eat slider foods or starve. Your brain and body won't let you do the latter. This is probably the reason your PA is being stingy with fills. It may be for your own good. I understand that having to pay out of pocket makes it a lot more inconvenient to get the required adjustments be it a fill or unfill but I don't know of a solution for that off hand. Document everything that passes your gums for the next week or so. You can do this on Calorie Counter, Diet Tracking, food Journal, Nutrition Facts at The Daily Plate and it will calculate the calories for you. If you are averaging more than 1,500 calories a day, you'll need to cut that down to about 1,200. If you are averaging under 1,000 a day; you may not be consuming enough and may need to bump it up 200 calories. Keep your chin up. Losing slowly is 1,000 times better than gaining quickly.
  7. Everything is mushie if you own a blender or food processor. Be creative.
  8. Call your surgeons office now!!
  9. Nobody is losing massive amounts of weight with little effort!!!! Try documenting everything you eat and drink. You may be surprised that you are consuming a lot more calories than you thought. Make sure you drink at least 64 ounces of Water daily. Make sure you consume at least 50 grams of Protein daily. Work on the attitude, nothing comes easy and it only makes it harder when you are fighting it. The people with the positive attitudes didn't get them because they are successful. They are successful because they had positive attitudes. Good luck.
  10. Congrats!! I hope I can make the same post in a year or so.
  11. Not odd at all, just lucky. I had a 3 week liquid pre-op diet and wasn't hungry either. I knew I was lucky. Congrats and good luck!
  12. I know many ways to lose 15lbs in a hurry but none of them is good for you. So, I am not going to mention them. Instead, I suggest that you climb right back on the wagon. You know where it is parked. Do whatever you were doing to lose the weight in the first place and throw in a lot more exercise. You can do this!!
  13. Wow! Deja vu! I could have sworn I just read and replied to this exact post 2 minutes ago. Please don't double post. You may miss out on half of the replies.
  14. Call your surgeon's office. These are questions for them, not a bunch of strangers. Everybody patient and surgeon are different.
  15. Gee, we all must have read this wrong Good luck and don't worry, I won't waste "your" time responding to your next plea for assistance.
  16. Yep, you only get a 1/2 point if you didn't slime and throw up. Sliming is the best part of getting stuck. Here's a little tip: Do NOT drink to get unstuck after you start getting fills. It NEVER works and only makes matters worse.
  17. Congrats!! I am flying coach for the first time in 5 years on Wednesday. I've dropped 125 pounds since last time. I hope all of me stays in my seat now.
  18. Sounds like a load of crap to me too. Liquids shouldn't sit in your pouch more than a few seconds unless you are way too tight. Mary, ask your doctor to explain what he/she means.
  19. I'm rubber, you're glue. Whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you. nyah nyah.
  20. Congrats!! I've said it at least a thousand times; a positive can-do attitude is a much stronger tool than the lapband. With both in place; the sky is the limit. A muffin once in a while won't kill you but next time, make a compromise with yourself and only eat half the muffin.
  21. It only happens to me when I eat too much or too fast. I think it is kind of cool. Looks like a jellyfish in the toilet.
  22. Hello and welcome. I've answered your questions the best I could below. The lapband is not a magic wand that you wave and your fat just disappears. Well, it's not. Losing weight takes A LOT of effort on your part. The lapband is just a tool and will not work unless used as directed. There are a few rules that must be followed in order to make it successful: Drink at least 64 ounces of Water a day Eat only 3 meals a day Cut your food small Chew every bite 25 - 30 times Do NOT drink during meals or for at least 30 minutes after meals. Stop eating when you are no longer hungry Do NOT drink high calorie drinks to name a few. Good luck!
  23. Sometimes. I have 7cc in a 14 cc band and I know it's there. I get painfully stuck if I eat too fast. If I try had enough and take my time I can finish a 6" sandwich from Subway and my nutritionist says that is more than twice as much as I should be able to eat. So, I still have a fill or 2 left to go.
  24. The lapband 3cc by default. Some of that can leak out during surgery. My surgeon did not add any more. Before my first fill the PA took out what was already in there and it was about 2cc.
